Notice - WonID's

This isnt right, banning ranges like that and not even wondering if some ppl are going to be effected like yours truly.

Grrr, Why is my WonID in there, mine is 2678735. I have never crashed a server or hacked but have been accused of doing so many many times. I would appreciate it if you would take my WonID off that list (2678735)

Not that I have any animosity, but I'd like to note he is also a confessed hacker. It's up to who ever runs the show whether he stays on the list or not. There has been a discussion already on his actions and how the community feels about him. I believe it's in the Devil's thread.

As to the innocents involved, blame Devil. They (the server admins) are responding to his and his kind's actions. If some people are wrongly cut off in the process, some admins have opened the ability to voice their lack of access. I don't know the rest of the process but atleast they can make attempts to restore access. However in some peoples eye's they would be considered casualties of war.

I personally would like to see people who have been cut off wrongly come forward so a process can be attempted to restore them with out restoring the retard that started all this. So far I've seen few and far between. So either they were not regulars or did not have contact with the server anyways.

It's a rock and hard place situation.
Our server is full almost 24 hours a day.

Before we banned those ranges it would be attacked constantly.

So if I banned a few innocents from it, sorry.
But the ranges are staying banned.

Well, i don't like the idea much either, but it's up to the people that own the servers. If i owned a serer i wouldn't want people constantly crashing it either. I agree with Mars, there really is no better way, unless you can exclude single IP's.

Hmm, I have another imposter. But, he isn't only pretending to be devil. His name is EsF|Goku and he says "he helped make this game possible", and he says he crashes servers, I have a screenshot. His wonid is : 1121798

I agree with the other admins. I'm not going to allow these hackers into my server just because I'm maybe excluding a few people from joining my server. Take no offense if you try to join SL server and find that you have been banned for no reason... because this is probably why.

blocking ip range

Yeah we went ahead and did that a few weeks ago.

Banned the following ip ranges
IP: 216.175.0.0
IP: 216.175.99.0
IP: 216.175.99.158

maybe I don't get it.... if you block a IP range you could possible block ip's from other people from that isp right? o_o

and who's DEVIL ? Is he the worst enemy of al esf's o_o

devil was a kid who would go around crashing esf servers. Blocking those ip ranges would possibly block other people but we dont' really care if it keeps devil off the servers. Its a sacrifice we are willing to make.

I was just playing on DoA's server, and a player named "Kid Devil" joined, started switching teams constantly to gain his PL till he was able to go ssj with goku, then started kicking everyone's asses. He didn't want to get a death point, so whenever he was low on health, he switched teams twice again. He wasn't saying anything throughout the entire game, even to say he wasn't the real Devil.

His WONid is 22639. Litterally as soon as I final flashed him, to give him his 1st death point, the server crashed. He didn't say one word thoughout the entire game. I have a screen shot of his WONid, but didn't think of taking one as the server was crashing. I can't be bothered to find a web hosting site for the pic, so if you want it, just add me on MSN or AIM, and I'll send you the pic.:]

(BTW, when everyone switches to STEAM and gets their new ID's, won't all the WONid's and all that everyone has gathered become useless?)

the server crashed shortly after that pic was taken, and True Freak joined a server i was in and said "Freeze" before i saw them together. like devil used to do with the "freeze" stuff... sooo there you have it.

Go into your esf folder, open your Banned.cfg file with notepad, and add people's WON ID's to ban them from your server.:]

Example: banid 0.0 *******
Replace ******* with users WON ID's.
