If there was a model for ESF, cant a great skin make it look just as good as a bid for power model?

Its the poly count that holds most skinners back. HL has 3000 max poly and Q3 5000 if i'm corect.

i think the poly count is 4000 cause my model is about 3222 last time i checked...and i compiled it and had no problems...i was told it would be rough for slower comps though

cant the HL code be edited so it can handle more poly?

yes it could, its called HL2, no i ont think u can without risking corruption of your install

Yes but then it would either lag the game, or the people who havent edited thier game code will crash when they play someone that has, i think.

Is it hard to convert the mod to Ut 2003, quake 3 or maybe HL 2?

Im wondering if you can play ESF for HL on HL2? And is HL2 out? and to answer your question skater, youd have to rewrite the whole mod, becuase ut, q3, and hl2 have different coding.

Hl=16 bit colors
Q3= 32 bit colors
Hl=double buffering
Q3=triple buffering
Hl=DirectX 6
Q3= DirectX 7 <b>T&L</b>

I wonder if its possible for Q3 because Hl runs on a edited Q2 engine.

Hl comes out end of this year, around september probably.

Yeah, that's great. Half Life 2 will look great. Too bad ESF isn't moving to the Half Life 2 engine any time soon. You've gotten yourselves waaaaay off topic. If you want to make another Half Life 2 thread do it in the off topic section.
