starting problemes

Im haveing trouble trying to play my map i know its not a compile prob it happens when i try and join the game i can choose my class and charicter but after i do that the console comes back up and then im back at the choose class screen can any one help plz
sorry if this has been answerd any where eles but i couldnt find it thx

Just dont play your map in singlesplayer mode...start a multiplayer game!
that's all!

my console is messed up aswell i cant see the writing but it still works fine

Did you start the map using the compile menu or did you compile 1st then open half life like normal and create a game?

ESF doesn't like info_player_start entities,most likely not recognizable,therefore sending you back to the character select screen

Solution : Compile it seperately then copy the map into your maps directory and test,costs time but does the job well IMHO
