when i want to skin something into totally diffrent colors, the colors sometimes look like sh*t so i just try to copy and paste it, but then the colors of a skin are totaly messed up:cry:

my question is: how can i reskin something using my own colors????????

when you make a mdl file the skinners have to make the image 8 bit... (for hl anyways) so what u gotta do is in photoshop you gotta change the mode from indexed color to RGB color.
IMAGE>MODE>RGB get what im saying..... I had the same problem when i first started skinning....

dont use paint (like most skinenrs here use, judging from the fkatness of the skin)

use photoshop or paint shop pro it has the best ways to edit a RGB color picture (skin) to indexed, this just takes all colors of the rgb picture and makes his own 256 color palette, when there are more than 256 colors in the pic it simply takes the color thats closest to it, it has sometimes a lesser quality than rgb, but hey, its hl engine, you cant expect to get 32bit skins on the hl models ;)
