does anyone know if there is a way to export a model from ms3d to 3dsm WITHOUT losing the bones for animation? because if not i'm not going to learn animation, but if there is i'll try

there is an smd importer for max/gmax. the only problem is, it does not smooth polys even if it is put on smoothshaded. the reason is, every traingle will have its own verticies. in order to smooth it you have to weld vertices, but if you do that, i think you wil lose bone assignment!
