You just need to practice, the same way you learned to draw well.

Its just I can't remember any of my textures/patterns that I would make. I can't think of which filters to use and im completely reverted to newbie.

maybe take a look at some php files, and look what u did there..

How would php files make you better in Photoshop? Just practice more and more. Play around with things and it will come back to you.
