Isn't 3000 polys a lot?

I know the limit for half-life should be about 1200. But I guess I'm not familiar with quake.

ehh, 3,000 polys = Not supportable by current engine standards. 1,500 is on the highside for quake3, 1,000 is about as high as you want to get with HL. You can put the 3,000 poly models in Quake3/Halflife, but when you have 4/5 of them running in the arena, it might take a toll on those lower end pcs.

Quake 3 now handles 2200 polys, well many people think its the engine but its the PCs, when they first came out it was P3 450s with a limit of 1200 polys, now we have P4 2600. Im not sure about Half life, tho the engine isnt as solid as quakes, it may not be abel to handle more. this model is for a contest with a limit of 3000 polys

i bveen working on a new model for a contest on the DBQ forums
so not for a game. although i can easily make oit less and put it ingame

Cut Turk some slack. He has problem with making heads, and he is trying to improve. anyways I think the model is perfect. I mean nobody has even seen the concept art and some of you are still *****ing and whinning...GIVE THE GUY A BREAK...ITS AN AWSOME MODEL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
