First, you need to make your textures as 24bit bmp files. They must be in dimensions divisible by 16 and I suggest not going over(or near) 512x512 pixels. Download wally at http://www.telefragged.com/wally/ and use it to put your textures into a wad. There are tutorials there on how to use it; I'm too lazy =p
Actually I just checked them and it only explains how to make the textures in wally itself. I suggest using paint and then copyign them into wally. How to do this is explained here: http://www.telefragged.com/wally/tutorials/wad_files.html
When you copy them into wally they MUST be 24 bit. Wally automatically makes them into 256 colors when you stick them in. If they're not 24 bit when you copy them, the result in the wad will be a pure black texture...
nope .. i always make the textres in 24 bit, calculate it down to 8 bit and then i copy that into wally ... i never had problems copying 8bit textres into a wad
...btw ... wally is really slow in calculating 24bit images to 8 bit down ...
not really... must be a prob on ur pc ^^ i asked some friends .. they can paste 8bit pics in wally without problems too ^^
but nm .. as long as it works =)
