Yeah thats a good idea. Seeing as Yamcha stayed stationary while controlling the Spirit Ball, maybe shift the player controls over to the Spirit Ball once it's been formed and then you can swoop around and holding right-click will allow you to perform a 'basic melee' -esque attack. While pressing left-click would cause the ball to explode. Yamcha is completley vunerable in this time and when the ball explodes/is destroyed, control would resume back to him.

If that's too hard to code then maybe just make it a smaller Big Bang Attack that homes stronger than a Kame Torpedo, it is his only attack next to the KHH.

I've just got a thought here, none of us here know how the buddy system works (unless you force pit guru's know something us common folk don't) So coming up with techniques and ways to implement Tien with buddy('s) might all prove to be in vain.

Well we know #17 and #18 are going to be buddied, so regardless of how buddying actually works, we can have Tien and Yamcha in the same way.

We also know that Guldo is going to be buddied with Ginyu, but we don't know what that involves, we can only assume due to Guldo's limited abilities that he is meant for a single attack. I'm only saying not to make too many plans on this buddy system till we know for sure what's involved.

Ok guys I decided that I'm gonna make some sprites for Tien's attacks. But I need to know what Tien's attacks were going to be.

So far I know tien's main attacks he's used before are Dodonpa, Kamehameha, Tri-beam, and Solar Flare. So I ask...do you want Dodonpa, Kamehameha, or both?

Also, what should tri-beam look like? I haven't actually seen it myself. Its obvious its a projectile attack, but I dunno what it should look like. anyone have any ideas?

Logan :

I put down for the four witches technique. It's just as much as a transformation as "mystic" and possibly less work than a buddy.
If Tien get's a buddy, give him his old rival Yamcha since they're close in strength. They also have variety of good techniques together (kamehameha, wolf fang fist, spirit ball, tribeam, dodonpa, solar flare....thats enough already!)
....and chiaotzu sucks... o_o

No no, Logan! Pass to me!

We've (R.T and myself) got sounds for all the attacks listed there, Warren's still spriting so whether you want to do it competitivley (i.e public vote on the best sprites) or work cooperativley to split the work-load is up to you. Bearing in mind that the model is coming along faster than expected (based on last time...) we might see a walking-talking Tien sooner rather than later :)

Dodon Ray looks too much like finger-laser...but its more of a normal beam attack than a piercing attack like Frieza's. I have no idea what the coders plan to do with it, but I have an idea on its coloring and how it should look.

Tri-Beam is going to be harder since it really doesn't show the beam itself. Just the set-up and explosion. Its obviously a projectile though. I'll see what I can do.

Edit: I was messing around with photoshop and I decided to quickly work on the colors for a Dodon Ray beam trail and this is what I came up with.

What do you think? Are the colors alright?

Yeah I noticed that about the Tri-Beam, how you can't really see the beam itself. It's sort of an instant hit thing, but making it instant hit in the game would make it really spammable, giving the victim no chance to evade the attack. There are two options I can think of:

1) is that when you charge the Tribeam, the area where you are aiming will start to glow yellow. The more you charge, the more visible the glow, that way it gives anybody in the firing line a chance to try and evade the attack. When the Tribeam is fired, it will be an instant hit to wherever you are aiming.

2) is that it fires like a big bang or finishing buster, but with an invisible projectile. However, the projectile itself will have a much brighter glow than big bang or finishing buster, meaning that although the projectile is invisible, you may still get a warning before it hits you, and other players may still be able to see where the projectile is headed.

As for Dodon Ray, I think it should be like the Special Beam Cannon.

*EDIT: Nice sprite Logan. The colours are almost correct, the outer glow should be more red.

So it's like a yellow flashlight?

Well in the show it created three shadows on it's target, pointing in three opposite directions. That seems to suggest the the attack is three points of light. Also, the shadows rotate so the triangle of lights is spinning.

So that logically means that the 'beamhead' looks like a spinning version of this:

I think it would be better if tien will remain a single fighter instead of using the buddy system. Anyway, chiaoztu wasn't really a good fighter and that Chiaoztu rocket launcher idea is kinda... pathetic. I mean how many chiaoztu can you launch lol. Yamcha also didn't make it to the top. But how about this? I know this sounds crazy but it would be cool ^_^
Heres an example.

Tien - Normal
HP 150
PL 700,000
1) Melee
2) Ki blast
3) Generic Beam/Ball
4) Kamehameha
5) Tri-Beam (over-charged drains life)

Tien - Power up (Permanent)
PL requirements : 1,500,000
Powerlevel gained : 2,200,000
1) Melee
2) Ki blast
3) Generic Beam/Ball
4) Kamehameha
5) Tri- Beam (over-charged drains life)
6) Seperated Form Kamehameha (Split into 3 tiens and fire kamehameha together) *drains both KI and LIFE*

Tien - Four Witches Transformation (Permanent for that round only until you die.)
Powerlevel requirements : 3,000,000
Powerlevel gained : 4,000,000
Bonus : Gain 2 extra arms. (Double damage attacks)
" Speed Loss" & "Extra ki drain every second'

1) Melee (Doubled damage)
2) Ki blast ( Doubled speed )
3) Generic Beam/Ball ( Fires 4 generic beams/balls. One in each hands)
4) Kamehameha ( All 4 arms charges a kamehameha together ) "double damage"
5) Tri-Beam ( The two extra arms charges tri-beam. Over-charge drains life. The other two arms will be on defense position.)
6) Seperate Form Kamehameha ( Split into 5 tiens. All with extra arms. Fire kamehameha together. *drains both health and ki*

Ok. I'll see what I can do and I'll show you all later today. I'll also make the Dodon Ray a little more red on the outside as suggested before.

Nicely noticed RavenDust. Maybe that'd explain why the english version is named TriBeam..

I think this is how it works though. The Triple Beams are shot off spinning as RavenDust said, but then they merge together as they reach the target, and attack in one big blast. (if you see the clips, both Cell and Goku just get hit by a big flash of light.)

This is how i would suggest implementing that..
Tribeam releases 3 homing scattershot beams that lock onto just one person that Tien zoomed in at.

OR just a massive yellow big bang ball that drains your health

Four Witches idea sux ass. Especially as its a move from DB, and it....sucks ass. But then again, the ESF Dev team said nothing from the Dragonball/GT series would ever be included in ESF, yet i see krillen with his Scatter Beam in DBZ. Besides having clones of Tien would be weird....thats why the esf team left the splitting thing out....it could have been used with Piccolo and Krillen :/ as much as Tien maybe liked to be included in esf, i dont really see the need for him in esf....its like having Guru or Dende in esf....Yamcha was pretty much a total wuss after the namek saga as well....like krillen. Whats the point of having him? Chiaotzu....nuff said.... I reckon the transform levels should be of Tien and Yamucha. Yamcha starts off ata PL of 600 000 or whatever, then for transformation Tien steps in at a transformed PL state of multiplier 1.5 and the same speed of Trunks. Yamucha should start off with his Soukidan, Generic Beam/ball, KameHame wave, Ki Blast. Tien should have Tri Beam, KameHame wave, Solar Flare. Not a lot of attacks, but its pretty much the same as Krillen. For higher transformations, maybe it could be Tien after training with King Kai or something or Tien after the Hyperbolic Time Chamber etc.... Im sure you can think of better stuff than 3 Tiens or something or the multi arm technique, since the multi arm technique didnt even phase Goku in the Boudokai tournament

P.S. The homing thing for Tribeam wont work, as Tri Beam was a straight attack like Frieza's finger laser etc. tri beam should have the same effect as burning attack, and blind people for about 4 seconds or whatever

no way the buddy system idea sounds cool

and i was under the impression that the tri beam cannon was just a beam of energy i didnt see any kind of ball or anything

6) Seperated Form Kamehameha (Split into 3 tiens and fire kamehameha together) *drains both KI and LIFE*
he never did this with kamehameha it was the tri beam he used

using an above example, this is a quick tri-beam I came up with.

if this is the look everyone likes, I'll animate it to spin.
