Well im not too big on radio..All the songs i need are on my ipod, and if thee happens to be a new song I like, i admit, i look for it on the internet, but I rarely find it, so I just listen to the music video of it. about 1/3 of the songs i listen to is is rap or hip hop, and since a lot of new rap songs suck, that is not a big problem for me, so the occasional CD suits me well, either converting the songs to mp3 from my own cd or my brother's, which is the same as playing his cd in my boom box. If i were to buy my own when my borther already has them, thats liek buying 2 playstations so we both can play :S
But, to me a lot of people here seem to be more fond of music..So its kinda hard for me to udnerstand at times...I could see a non main stream band/singer giving out samples of their work, i see it all the time. I dont know the process of getting your cd onto a shelve...But usually, the non mainstream band albumbs are worth buying. Pop artist usually, at least to me, have 1-3 good songs out of 12-20, which is not a good ratio for buying it. Plus, i think it would hurt even more, since there is so much compettion, having someone buy the cd is gold, so not much reason to download all the songs...
Not saying that you shouldn't pay for rich people's music, just saying i would probably choose to pay for the underdog's. I dont think they get a whoel lot of concerts, commercials, movies, ect ect..
