ESF Release Schedule - Important

So in the new ESF you can make a map directly in a 3D Program? That's cool.

If it's going to be released in 2 Phases and in the first one we'll only have Vegeta, Ginyu and Trunks are we going to be able to add our own characters?

With the new mapping system, yes, you will be able to make maps in any 3d modelling program. As for custom characters, you were always able to make them using any 3d modelling programs.

Oh and something that was really bugged in the OpenBeta Final, the bots.
I hope there will be bots in this release, maybe if the custom characters would work only client side and not server side, only if the server has / requires custom characters, so when you connect to a server you get to play with only the characters the servers have, if there will be official servers only with the characters released in the official release.

I think he meant the costume model system that was in the Open Betas were you could have a separated model but with the same attires of an existing character.

No, I meant custom models. I called them custom characters because they are pretty much custom characters.

Goku and Vegeta are characters. Battle-weary Goku and Frieza Saga Goku are models!

Probably going to be a lot less common in the next release due to how it'll be harder to make a map.

you know i was thinking the same thing, but I've been interested in making maps for esf 1.2.3 for a little bit now just never really gave it a shot cuz i figured, what if it doesnt get any run time cuz final comes out. Now if they release a demo, I will give it a shot and it wont seem harder to me because i never learned to make maps for 1.2.3. See, I wont have anything to compare it to so it will seem the same to me.

it has been said that without Layne's or Raven's, or both of theirs help, no one can make a map for ESF xD

I'm 95% sure that they'll make an ECX for ESF:Final, I was actually expecting by the end of this year I'll have ESF:Final ECX RC3 in my Steam library

There will be no ECX for 1.3 unless someone else creates it and still it will be un-official since ECX was made by Corona-Bytes.
Almost the whole team is part of ESF team and not think they gonna make a mod over esf specialy when they have the whole source of ESF: F and created it.

I would go for the option that gives a demo, 5-6 characters is alot in my eyes, 1 map is fine. Infact if im not mistaken this would resemble zeq2 lite which makes me wonder, if this option was given the title of 'lite' (or something similar) rather than a demo because people like myself don't usually play (download) demos of any sort, it would attract more earlier. Ofcourse this will also make more sense as you ARE experiencing the full game, just a section of a wide range of possibilities.

Why would you not play demo's. They give you a taste of games you're not sure you want

It's true Lite is probably a better term if the Phase is the way forward but demo isn't entirely wrong
