lag

hello i got every 10-20secs a extrem lag my ping goes up to 250. does anybody got an idea why, i got a 3mb connection and 2.4ghz radeon 9600pro. Maybe something with the setting isnt correct.

I am using steam, and ESF version 1.2.3. Not using any addons. ESF added onto half-life. Yes i am behind a router, and no i turned my firewall off just in case. My drivers have been recently updated. Open GL is the video mode i am using i believe. I do not get any error messages...

For some reason, my computer lags like CRAZY all of a sudden while playing the game! Just a couple of days ago it was doing just fine and today it is suddenly giving me serious lag problems. Could someone help me find out why? Thanks.

Hey, anyway... yeah, in esf i get crazy ass 30 second "connection warning" spikes every like 2 minuites or so, my ping is fine. most of the time under 50, it's not my connection either, it only happens in ESF, and other hl mods too, like NS etc. If anyone happens to know what would cause...

I've noticed recently when I download anything, my firefox just has a MAJOR lag spike for a couple seconds, sometimes minutes dependant on file size, and i cant do anything on my PC. Usually I just wait it out but it's starting to get on me... any ideas?

Well, i used to have dsl and would be able to go into games and not get much lag at all usually. But now i just got cable and it seems everytime i go in a game i lag. can anyone help me figure out why im lagging so much? everything else goes fast(Web surfing,etc)

Hi guys. When i create a dedicated server it lags like hell. Why?? When i create a normal game peoples fps doesnt go over 80. but when i create a dedicated its about 150? I got 1024/512 adsl connection, so it should'nt be a problem! Can anybody help plz.
