Not real news.

In any case what im interested in is. Did they change the melee system?

If not, then i wont even bother trying it out.

Some of the changes you’ll find in Revision 1485 (written by Mima/Domitjen). (rev 1502 now..getting constantly updated and this is the most stable/best one to play right now.)
Battle damage skin/model support
Player sound system rewrite support: Every character has more taunt/death sounds to their disposal as well as screams while powering up.
26 additional made-for-ZEQ2-Lite music tracks by FaulconerFan.
New lock on feature which gives an 1 vs 1 advantage but a disadvantage on your surroundings view
Transformations for Goku and Vegeta.
Edited/improved skills such as spirit bomb/special beam cannon.
Added Krillin, Vegeta Sayian saga, Vegeta cell saga, Frieza.
Added Namek — Desert — Last Stand maps.
Added speedlines while boosting.
Improved chat area/hud.
Reverted to pre-public beta melee (fast-paced/simplified)
Quality addons in Media/Addons.
New, upgraded system of ki attacks.
New sound modes.
Re-written stamina system.
Re-written Power Level/damage system.
OS X Build (Macintosh).
Linux Build.
Operational Melee based on Power Level
A partially working server browser.
New menu layout.
No more scrolling weapons exploits.
No more changing characters exploits.
Many small issues like character being stuck, while fatigue draining.

Every other update gets announced here: http://www.zeq2.com/lite/forums/viewtopic.php?t=3923

You know not to expect quality from a game once it goes the route of public SVN.

For a program, like PCSX2...yeah, but for a game...it's easy to be inconsistent.

The only difference is that fans are now updated constantly whenever a benefital function is added to the game. Only the devs can commit changes. It's not like everyone can change whatever they want.

Garry's Mod is the only game I have seen that is actually successful when using a SVN type deal, and that is for addons of the game.

ZEQ2 is boring. Its community is full of model rippers and whining kids. These are my opinions.

It was the first release so you could hardly call it complete. If they keep developing it, add more content, fix the melee and stuff, it has great potential to be a good Dbz game. But it will take time. So meanwhile i'll be just tracking to see its progress.

I fail to see what this has to do with gameplay experience when playing online on a server entirely.

Because the community of a mod can completely ruin the multiplayer experience.

SVN is just a way to get the latest build, i doubt the community has any control over it.

Good for ZEQ2 fans! Although it might turn out like the Open Beta here, a half-done build is rarely that much fun.

I'm aware of that. What I'm saying is, everybody else is as prone to the rules as I am. Tell them to respect the rules as well instead of me.

Since this week, every update is announced on the blog/discussion forum topic 'SVN Progress' :)

Indeed, only the devs can commit changes. Other people can just see what's been changed and update to the last stable revision shown in my topic/blog.
