i gues he wont... anyway in my opinion if ya want to set this into esf... you really need o cut sume polys... maybe remove those gloves.... or remove the to much detail on the shoulders... anyway: its very very detailed and great i reall like it ;)

He doesnt need to cut any polys, half life can take high poly models. But he already said he would cut some if he needed.

Its coming along great SV, keep it up.

Well, its not unusually that some computers got bad graphics and bad inet connection. Hl is a very old engine... i kno that it can handle many polys... but still, its not about the polycount its about the lagyness ingame.

He can go under 2k..

hes got 1100 now. Lets say the head/hair take about 600 hundred, now he has 1700 he has 300 polys for the pants, its not impossible, but he could stay under 2000

well i think your right zyrus about that laggines, Hl can handle models even over 3000 polys per character, even a lot higher.But the model is coming along very nicly. Dont cut anything now, just wait for the final effect.

the proportions are perfect to me. The hands with the Gloves are very accurate. THis is your 3rd vegetto, i wonder how it will turn up with skin and cellshading(If you are planing to cell Shade him). And can you post some pics of your vegetto(the one in da sig) with the full body? im courius how it looks.

exactly what Devion said, it doubles the polys and it doesnt look right.

thanks, but i dont think ill remove the gloves, i dont remember vegetto taking them off :p but yes, i will cut some polys down later.

Nice models man,i got a q i cant seem to find the answers.If you use milkshape 3D can you tell me how to give your finished model a cool background on the 3D view,and basically how to get my tien model like yours,how you got non super vegeto and super vegeto both in the screenshot.and how do you find the poly count,no tuts i have read have said how to do those 2 things,Again nice vegeto,i wanna see what he looks like when he's done seeing how he will be your 3rd one he has to be the best one you made so far.

yes i use milkshape, ummm background? if you mean diffrent color, then do this in milkshape:
File>Preferences - select Persp Background and click choose, then you can select the color you want =]

and basically how to get my tien model like yours

ow...umm.. =/ i rendered them both saparetly and placed them together in photoshop...

and how do you find the poly count
in milkshape: first, select your model, or the part you want to check the polies on, then go to Tools>SelPolyCount. then look at the Poly numbers. =P

i wanna see what he looks like when he's done seeing how he will be your 3rd one he has to be the best one you made so far

well your new model is looking alot more "smoother" than your zeq2 model, both look great though. i can't believe they're not using it anymore.

i remember seeing here a cell-shaded Gotenks that looked really nice but it was never released, I guess that was one of the reasons why (cell-shading working in ESF).

on a side note Super Vegetto do you know that zeqII.info site is still up and it works, there just nobody there, lol.

Dude thanks for answering my questions,dont worry you answered all my questions. and you did a nice job on his arms and i cant wait to see him done cel shaded that ought to be interesting,and is your mod gonna be celshaded.

man its lookin awsome , the pic with whole body. But im courious what effects did you used in that scene.? i mean i know you rendered it in 3D studio, i can see that you added lights, and you configured ink&paint in a very special way.Can you just please anwser what settings did you used =] i mean the lights and the Cell Shading. To tell the truth me and Flickone(dbzhood modeler) are very courious what thingys did you used to gain such an effect =].So please anwser. ^^

Man it looks very neat at the moment, but i cant see why people can't understand =p

Celshading does NOT i repeat NOT work in half life (unless you code it in) Cel shaded models are models which are skinned in a way with flat colours and black lines then rendered to have those cartoony shadows, and half life can not render them =P

And that celshaded gotenks that was never released was a celshaded skin!! even if you do put a celshaded skin into haflife it wont show up with those funky shadows, the closest effect you'll get it the black outline that looks dodgy =P

Just wanted to get that off my chest =P

and ZEQ2 is gonna be celshaded (using fake shaders or something)

it was my decision not to use it :smile: we'll have a better vegetto.

heh i told you =D all i did is mostly what you said, i posed him, added light (2 light sources for ssj), used ink&paint, made it 3 layers and made the shading darker, you have from 1-100, i usualy make it 55 for normal form and 50 for ssj.

and ZEQ2 is gonna be celshaded (using fake shaders or something)
indeed it does =D untill the Q3 source code is out, thats all we have, but it's looking tight :smile: wait and see.

well i tried over 100 milion times to gain a cool efect like yours , now i will try one more time :p . Anyway its awsome that zeq2 will use cell shaded characters. and just cant wait and see the next model update =]

thanks man =D i always try to top my old projects :smile: im having a feeling this one will look alot better in a way =)
ill make the "realistic" skin first then ill get to cell shaded, which im much better at doing ^_^ so expect update soon on the legs!

indeed im slow heh, ill start on the head right now though, hair ill be using from my old vegetto since it was one of my best hairs ever and i dont want it to have no purpose so there =D just face, which usualy takes me less then an hour...about the polys... the current body is 1566 as you can see... the hair takes about 300...we have 1866...it's possible... i guess...ill try to get it under 2000 as it is, if it doesnt work out that way ill start cutting =]

You made the legs really small and scrawny. Beef him up, make them a lot bigger.
