I also heard about some people's Wii's not being able to read the game because it is a DVD DL.

Afaik, the Wii's laser tries it hardest to identify the disc because it has two layers, and if your laser is the slightest bit dusty, it won't recognize it.

That looks to be what I read, too.

I find it odd, though, that dust settles on just about everything in my house (old house + forced-air heating = dusty goodness), my Wii has seen more than its share of settled dust, and I have, from time to time, put a game in that has also had the time to collect dust; despite all that, I haven't had the slightest difficulty in playing SSBB.

I guess I take better care of my Wii than I though, even though I don't really attempt to do any kind of cleaner short of wiping the dust off when I need to pick it up and plug in GCN controllers.

Getting mine tomorrow! This wicked franchise in Australia imports heaps of wicked **** that we otherwise wouldn't get for months. So I'll be brawling in about 18 hours or so.

Got my wii yesterday and brawl today, loving both of em.

So far I'd say the pokemon trainer is my favorite (squirtle specifically). I've only unlocked a few characters, im goin through the SSE to get the rest of them. I love the cut-scenes, really changes up the ssb formula a bit.

;x You don't have to be online at the same time.

Pretty much every time I've added someone, the other person wasn't online.

It's always worked.

Yar it's kinda crazy. I was so friggin lucky to get mine.

There was a new game store that had opened and they were getting wiis shipped to them all week and on the day of their grand opening I called them up and asked if they had any wiis left, he said "Yea, we have two left but I can only sell one because the other is for a drawing that we are going to have in a few". I was seriously like "OMG! CAN YOU HOLD IT PLEASE?!!?", and he reluctantly said, "Yea, but get here quick because there are already a bunch of people asking for one". Very nice guy to hold it for me on their grand opening,
When I got there the place was packed. I walked in and while waiting in line I heard a few people ask if they had any wiis and I was getting nervous because I knew they had one....lol... Once I got up there and said I was there to pick up a wii I could feel the hostility of gamers and parents around me as the clerk handed over the coveted shiny white box. I immediately bolted to my car, threw it in the trunk and left.

It was...epic...lol... I haven't got to open a brand new system since the n64, so when I got home and had my wii sitting there on an empty table with a knife in hand I started to feel the nostalgic feeling I got when I opened my n64 on christmas day. I loved it, and I ended up staying up till about 5am playing wii sports. The next day I got super smash bros for it and pulled yet another all nighter trying out the new characters and slowly working my way through the SSE. I haven't had this much fun in a long time...lol... my computer is getting so neglected :(.

I played this game for the very first time in gamestop today. I don't have a Wii yet so this was gold to me.

I love it. I even accidentally unlocked Snake for them o_O

Comboing is so much easier and smoother now. Fighting, while slowed down when it comes to gravity-based attacks, is a lot more vicious. And since aerial battle have more flexibility, battles travel even better.

One awesome experience was when I got a smash ball as Mario, and Wario knocked a rolling crate toward me. Now I don't know what exactly happened, but I was off the stage with the crate (I could not double jump anymore) and JUMPED off the crate and did Mario's final smash right in Wario's face.

Maybe this is something that only happens on occasion, but I must get a Wii ASAP.

I played the wii at some podunk towns gamestop. It was sweet.

Its alot easier to get back onto the stage now though.

I'm kind of dissapointed how some of the new characters smash attacks suck.

Yes, get a wii nowwww.

I am so addicted to playing as squirtle, I wouldn't mind having him as a stand alone character and finally dropping jigglypuff from the lineup...

Anyway, the only problem I've had with brawl is the online play. It's been pretty laggy lately, it's playable (whooped kongs ass a few times;)) but going for the smash ball is so hard with lag XD.
