Inspired by the new Matrix movie coming out, I made this BG:

PS made completly with Photoshop, I'm getting sick of 3d crap.

yeah 3d has been like 6 moths over done, it got boring since about june last year, thats why i hate most 3d art

oooooo nice. It is a nice departure from all those 3D WP's. Using stricly PS shows some real skill. And does show off your uber skills.

I don't like that lightning at all. The shape behind it is very interesting though, I'd almost like to see more detail on it. I think the concept is cool, colors are working fine, but tweak some of those effects. I'd also suggest doing someting a little different with that text outline, it's in an odd place right now.

its not that 3d is boring but its the way people do 3d, all they do is take a brice render and thats it. if u actually try to blend it in with something so the main object isnt the 3d but something else, then it becomes better.

um as for the image i think its decent, the text could use alot of work, and i mean alot fo work. it would be better if u had the lightning mabey originating from the sphere, instead of just shooting from off the screen

I added a cloud type thing where the lightning comes from now, I think it looks better. It was originally supposed to be a white cloud but I inverted it to darken it up...

It isn't that hard to tell the difference... at all... unless you're dealing with Hiragana (if you don't know how to read it). Some of us actually study this stuff... not really a waste of time at all, considering how much time you "use" by playing ESF every week
