ok, i understand how to add sky and light entities but i dont know how to edit those things, whenever i add a sky box and i compile my map it never has the sky i told it to have it always has some other one, and i dont know ow to change the brightness/darkness on the map someone help me...

Yea so here is a fun map I just made (in like 1hour) Really fun to mess around in ;) its nothing but black and a little time building. It beats looking at a gray background heh :tired:

alright, i fixed my tournament map, but esf is crashing when its loading. I only get one compile error thats saying tournament.pts not found. also what does pts stand for and what is it?

Hi, i just found out that you cant make huge rooms in valve hammer editor or your map will get an error. But if you cant make huge rooms, then how do you make outside landscapes? Wouldnt you need the ceiling of the rooms to be the sky? im really confused. please help me out.

I recently when on my first plane flight and while looking down on the clouds I thought you could make an ESF map similar to this.
There is a map called esf_skyarena that uses cloud effects.
I don't know for sure how sky textures work, but I think they make a complete cube around the map...
I was told to chang ethe sky bg to go to map > map properties > enviroment map.
I did that then chose the bg I wanted.
I entered the name in the box: devils_advocate256_ft
I compiled the map and when I tested it it said it couldnt load the sky bg :S Help please!

how do i make it so that when you fly to the edge of the level you do not fall into the skybox?
