problems

I'm on my friends computer, and he's been having a recent problem with his monitor. Everytime he opens a window (whether it be My Computer, Mozilla, etc.) The screen starts flashing, like dark to light. Continuously. Its as if the monitor is trying to give us a seizure ;/. ANY HELP?! greatly...

HI.. I need so much help ... i have played esf but that was not steam... Now i have downloaded it and i have steam but i can't install HL in steam!! O_O .... and i have tried ( browse games ) it just say ,,The cd-key is in use'' help please.... :yes:
