Allright. All us modelers need to talk about this, it needs to come out into the open:
ESF deformations SUCK!
I'm using Milkshape so I haven't been able to put weighting on any of my joints, but from all the models I've seen no one else has either. In the spirit bomb, Kame, destructo disk, etc... the shoulders look hideous.. Is this just because none of us have done the joints correctly (used weighting) or is it an ESF issue?

yeah... don't worry about the poly count. over at the TS forums, weapon models normally exceed 2000 polies.. and I'm sure that player models are somewhere around the same, and atleast I run them fine...

IGNORE THE POO ON HIS UPPER BACK. When I was slapping the 2 halves together for the screenshot, I messed up. oops.
Now I start mapping..(sigh).. hate mapping..

Wow thats impressive. Whats the polycount sitting at?
I gotta agree with u that skinmapping is really boring and is the worst part of any skinning project.

This one Is a tracing:

This one is a mangled/manipulated version of the tracing:

This one I drew based off the first one:

The Polycount is around 2080 (both sides) right now...I have to add the ties on his feet, so it will go up a little.

my only crit would be that you accidently welded some verticles on the back of his head, if you look at that pic, that is ^_^

verticles?

All the vertices are welded correctly except for 2 in his upper-middle back. But I pointed that out already. Unless you mean the base of his skull looks wonky? might fix that..
