The 'disintergration' (didn't actually disintergrate stuff, just blew it up) was in the leaked version, you could see one of the gunships use it on a pack of antlions and their queen. It reminded me of the Ion Cannons from C&C. Didn't they take it out of the final version?

I would guess they did, since it seems like a pretty major attack and probobly high on the eye candy factor, and they always make sure to expose you to that crap at least once.

just seems to me that the situation for its use isnt something that it gets into alot
