Heh, I liked Morrowind's story. And towns. Oblivion seems too... LOTR...

Gonna test my Heavy Armor using bowman. He seems pretty effective so far...

you cant kite that well in heavy armor and when you get beat on you cant shoot.

edit.. thieves dont bother with imperial palace... there isnt anything there... maybe some large items to have fun with telekenises but nothing worth stealing, like at all.

@Jp: I don't have 1200 hours to spare. Wasting 12 hours is a big deal for me. Get a job if you have that much time.

I didn't even know Morrowind had a story until someone told me. I would just jump everywhere until I ran out of stamina and then I would walk to the nearest town. Eventually, I just started raiding towns. Balmora was a ghost town in less than 30 minutes.

I remember at one point I found that guy without a shirt in his house and I fisticuffed him until he died. It pretty much said I ruined the entire game so I accepted my fate and deleted the game.
Lawl, you killed caius cosadus. One of the most important characters in Morrowind.

I was wondering, how do you feel about Morrowind compared to Oblivion? My personal opinion is that Oblivion has the looks, but Morrowind makes up for that with the storyline. In fact, yesterday I crashed to desktop again, and decided to play Morrowind instead ^^
Both Oblivion and Morrowind are good games. I think Oblivion is also a great game, but it's definitely missing something that Morrowind had. Perhaps it's because Oblivion sacrificed some of Morrowind's open-ended nature in order to have a more structured story. However, it also improved upon Morrowind's near-idiotic NPC interaction system of keywords and near-interchangable conversations.

Morrowind was full of quirks and bugs that many people forgot over time, and only remembered the good. Clearly hitting a target repeatedly but 'missing' due to your rolls, the unavoidable everpresent fog, cumbersome inventories and lack of MP regeneration--but people remember the good things, too--like practically unlimited enchanting, resulting in crazy and fun results, like Fortify Acrobatics, and the slew of mods.

Which is a better game? I'd have to say Oblivion would certainly appeal to more people, Oblivion had an equally interesting world and a better main story, a better fighting system, certainly better graphics and voice-acting (considering Morrowind had next to none), and the music is about the same.

I'd say Oblivion is better than Morrowind was, but like I said before: Oblivion is just missing that special something that Morrowind had.

I played Morrowind for 10 minutes and disliked it. Never touched it again.

I'm addicted to oblivion. So, the answer is no.

nope all the TES games are self contained worlds so you don't need to know what happend in the last games.
