I loved Morrowind so i got Oblivion as soon as it was out. I bought a new ram and a new video card in a internet shop for this game. And now they tell me i need to wait 2-3 weeks to get it. Aw crap. Is the enchantment/spellmaking sistem the same as that in Morrowind and what godly items have you created?

Does this also apply to stuff found in houses? Because sometimes I break into houses and find only crap, but other times I make over 200 gold per house. I was wondering if everything you find in houses is also level based or just pre-placed stuff.
As far as I can tell, the only bearing on things you can find inside of houses (for thieving purposes) is dependant on how wealthy the owner of the house is. Rob a poor person and you will of course come up short.

Remember to case the joint first ;). Saves time.

Is there any kind of Necromancer class? I have a thing for raising the dead n stuff. As soon as I get paid I'm going to pick this up.

Do you think I'll be able to run it okay (directed more-so toward Smith| but anyone can answer of course)

conjuration magic allowes you to summon draemora(basically demons) and undead, as well as some nifty equipment. The rstoration line also has some drain health and stat spells too so you could make a pretty nifty necromancer if you wanted.

Who needs to case when your sneak skill is high enough to rob them while they're asleep, hm ;P

Hmmm the funny thing last time I got a mission from the thieves guild:

[Thief Spoiler]
Armand told me to go to Hieronymous Lex and steal back the money and the tax papers for him. So I quietly sneak into the building at night, nobody was there, I sneak all the way up the tower, lockpick the room, and just as I enter the room, Hieronymus Lex also enters the room. I knock him unconcious (and kill his companion) grab the money and take of.

Later I get this other mission to steal a bust, and when I return to the garden, Hieronymous Lex is waiting there for Armand...and he didn't even recognize me...I was like..."wtf?"

[/Thief Spoiler]

Just finished the Arena in like...30 minutes or something. As a level 5 Thief, I expected it to be alot harder. Even the 'Grand Champion' Fight wasn't that hard. Now I get to fight monsters once a week for money, just killed 2 wolves and a goblin, took 3 seconds and earned me 570 gold. Easy money anyone? So I currently have about 8000 gold, level 5 and a not-to-bad equipment and I still have to start with the very first Main Quest to go to Chorrol :p

As a Thief you're not allowed to steal of poor persons :p. But what is poor in this game? A beggar or just someone who has only crap in their house?

It'll run fine at 1024 by 768 medium/high details. The grass amount is what kills performance.

I believe as a thief you're not allowed to steal off of beggers or other thieves. Everyone else is fair game.

A poor person would be anyone who lives in a shack. A rich person would be anyone who has a fancy house or clothes. If you're looking for a big score though, just wait untill the wee hours of the morning and loot a merchants shop. Big bucks.

Master of Mercantile can own a shop?

NO WAY~

Sleepy as **** atm, and gotta go to school in 20 mins. However, for my next upgrade to run this game, should i go for another 512mb stick of RAM? (I only have 512mb in this PC atm D: ) or a new GPU?

Also, I'm still level 1, but I've reached the Arcance University. Whats wrong?

You level up by using your major skills. Once you've aquired 10 level ups in your major skills combined, you will level up.

master of mercantile can give a store money so they have more money for you to sell crap to them.

doesnt really do anything, unless you make the store keeper poor because you sell them tons of things.

To answer everybodies Necromancy questions, as of the official release, the only Necromancy is in the form of a staff that can raise corpses. You get it for killing the head Necromancer, iirc. That's not to say that it will be modded by the community later on, but as of now, you're stuck with that staff (and everybody knows how much fun recharging staves is!).

What do you guys mean by "case"?

WHat do you mean by "Recharging staves"? What do you have to do?

And while I'm at it, what classes are in this game? (Guild wars terms please, it's the only rpg style game i play, i can't afford/never played WoW =/)

actually..what has probably happened to bapplebo is the same thing that happened to me...you need to rest in a safe bed..try buying a house..and sleeping in the bed..or renting a room somewhere to sleep in..sleep in there.and when u wake up..you should lvl up..repeat until it stops giving you the lvl up screen

btw has anyone found it increadibly hard to close the oblivion gates outside every town? :|

By recharging staves, I mean taking the staff to the apropriate shop/mage and having it recharged. See, staves (and swords/axes) can have spells attached to them to deal out extra damage or add effects such as poison or burden. As these abilities are used, the charge on the weapon will decrease until the charge runs out and the ability can no longer be used (that's when you recharge).

Classwise, you can be anything you want. You can make your own or use a premade class such as Assasin or Paladin. The class merely controls which skills are your main skills. These abilities start at a higher level than the other ones and when level up, they count towards your character reaching the next level. It takes ability level ups to reach the next level, upon which time you boost some stats and read about how the past few days have opened your eyes to the world (yawn). While your character can still level up the other abilities, they start at a lower level, so you're less proficient at them, and do not count towards your next level. When selecting a class, it is imperative that you consider what type of character you want to have. The list of skills are as follows:

Block
Armorer
Heavy Armor
Blunt Weapons
Bladed Weapons
Athletics
Hand-to-Hand
Destruction, Alteration, Mysticism, Illusion, Restoration and Conjuration Magic (each is seperate)
Alchemy
Security (lock picking, etc)
Sneak
Acrobatics (go go Gadget legs!)
Light Armor
Marksman
Mercantile
and Speechcraft

Of the 21 abilities, you may pick 7 as your main abilities. Hence, you can be any class you want, and you can actually name the custom classes.

I've never played Guild Wars, but I hope this is helpful. Now, if you'll excuse me, I really need to take a ****.

Yeah, I beat the Arena only a few hours ago, and I'm like WTF IM NOT SIMPLE PLAN LOL.

Now I just gotta continue the main quest, as i got 2 levels by going through the Arena.

Also guys, if you're like me and Cold Steel, check this out: http://db.gamefaqs.com/computer/doswin/file/oblivion_a.txt The first part has the tweaks. And turning off specular maps REALLY helps.
