I vote for Goku >.> <.< and vegeta ^.^

but seriously that's really cool. It kinda show's that maybe just maybe Nintendo still cares about their fans more than most may think.

Haha, I will have to buy this on principle if Sonic is added.

But I don't want the amount of 3rd party characters to overshadow the Nintendo characters, I mean i still see it as a majorly Nintendo-oriented game. I personally wouldn't mind a Final Fantasy character, but that's really a bit much for me. If they start pulling things like Naruto (highly doubt), Dragonball Z, etc., it would lose the Super Smash Brothers feeling.

I mean, they can't really add dozens of characters because that's when clone characters begin to show. But it will be interesting if they make all the new characters highly unique.

I want more characters in the next Smash Bros., but Chakra is right--if they add too many, it would lose the high standard of quality HAL sets for the game.

But I don't think the addition of Naruto or DBZ characters would ruin the feeling of the game--Shounen Jump's All Stars is proof of that.

Really, if they added DBZ/Naruto characters, they'd be near the top of the list of characters I would try to unlock, but it's just their theme that doesn't set right for me.

I feel that they are game franchises based on animes (which is based off mangas apparently, so that's second-hand or something, can't think of the phrase..) I don't really constitute them as "video game characters" and I think Super Smash Brothers's goal is to bring primarily video game characters to fight.

Mewtew, Pichu and Pikachu are also from both video games and anime.. It would be virtually the same for characters from DBZ.

Oh yeah, I forgot about Pokemon. Well, they are owned by Nintendo right? Wether or not that excludes them from the "no games-based-on-anime characters", I'd have fun playing as Goku in a game like that, but it'd sure feel out of place.

I think it looks pretty good. I like that they added wario in there. And Samus. Samus with no suit=

Just out of curiosity do you even play ssbm?
Since it came out. I too, played almost every day after high school with my buddies who were also gamers and into Smash. Still play it (not as often), love it, and am still the best of my little group of nobodies much like yourself. You don't need to tell me how to play, or how to win with mid-low tier characters. I don't even play high tiers... Roy, Kirby, Luigi. I can win just fine. My point is that it doesn't mean that someone playing a higher tier character doesn't have a *base advantage* over me. If my own skill vs. theirs overrides the advantage then I still win, obviously, but that's not what *balanced characters* is about. The fact is that if you knew how to play all characters with 100% efficiency, your Fox would beat your Falco, your Falco would beat your Luigi, your Luigi would beat your Pichu, etc. The developers (understandably) were not able to give everyone the same advantages in ability. Some characters are simply -less able- than others, and because of this they lose those options and strengths, and they are ranked lower on the tier list. Nobody is saying that Yoshi can never, ever, ever beat Marth or something. However, in a high-level match the Yoshi player would have to be *significantly* better than the Marth user in order to win.

Go play in a real tournament against a Marth/Sheik/Fox player who can wavedash, shffl, L-cancel and all of that pro jargon, and you will not just get damaged, you'll probably get it handed to you. I'm sure you're good and everything but there's a whole wide world of monsters out there, and trust me when I say the information presented here in this thread is straight *from them.* Just looking at your analysis of Sheik I can tell how isolated your knowledge of this game is. 3/4 of Sheik's air As are deadly as hell and she has some of the most ridiculous combos in the game if you know them. There's a reason pros choose Sheik, and there's a reason that tier list exists.

Tiers are a harsh reality.

On the character suggestion side of things, I would absolutely LOVE to see Ark from Terranigma (Enix) in there. Or maybe the Mana Knight from Secret of Mana. If any FF characters got in I'd rather them be from FF6 than FF7, I just found FF7 to be boring and the only cool character was Vincent.

Ark > Everyone else.

Bowser Low Tier....I laughed.

Bowser, in the right hands, is a beast. He is one of, if not the only charcater than can cancel out of any wave dash combo thanks to Whirling Fortress.

I don't know where you're getting the idea that that was directed toward you. Infact I remember directing it to Tonythetiger123- try re-reading my post.

Shiek used to be my best character until I found out about Falco. Maybe if I ever find a way to smoothly record a video- i'll show you against that 50th battle against giga bowser and the rest. I didn't get hit once.

I'm not bragging. I'm just trying to point out that the game is very well balanced. I just have the best timing down with Falco. I could pull off beating anything with even jiggly puff or kirby, bowser or donkey kong- It would just require more concentration on my part due largely because of the fact that I don't play them as much.

Man I wanna play some of you when this comes out =X

I really don't use wavedashing a whole lot, it is helpful, but I like play at a high level why looking cool/right (seeing a character rapid-hump the ground doesn't qualify as "eye appealing" for me).

Though I gotta get that L-cancel down.

My brother plays as Falco. With his 2 incredicly strong/fast meteor attacks, or spikes, whatever you want to call him, he is pretty dangerous, a speed character with decent strength. When it comes to messing people up, Mario, Pikachu and Sheik are my go-tos. Hopefully Sonic will be one of them as well in the new one.
