Sound Editing Problem + Encoding info needed

thats a dar*n good question and I'd like an answer for that one if any1 know...

also - the main subject - I know I must encode the wav files somehow b4 I can use them in the game!

I tried them myself lately ( the files from my sound pack ) and I just dont know
the right method to save the files for using them!

encoding on this one I mean like what is the Sample Rate and Bit Depth
and all other things that I need to know to save the edited files properly!

(I know this was asked b4 but I couldnt find it myself)

tnx for any1 willing to help!

Yeah, what Wizard said.

You can convert your sounds with programs such as Goldwave and filter certain frequencies to cut out background noise.

some one told me that it should be 8 bit, mono but NVM!
by saying filter certain frequencies you meen like using the Equilaizer?

you can use 16 bit, too ... all sounds in my soundpack are based on Wizards stats ...

there's no possibility to filter backgroundmusic ... just imaging what sound it ... for the reality and for the PC ... waves are just waves ... that means it's just one line (visually) which goes up and down ... now tell me how you would filter 2 types of sound in this line ???

yes ... you can filter frequenzies (and yes, you can do it with the equalizer) but you still can't filter background perfectly ... if you've got much luck you can reduce the noise of it ... but the main sound will change then, too
