Problem with the instalation of ESF 1.2.1 Patch

I have hl 1.1.1.0 instaled and esf 1.2 instaled, and when i run the instaler of the patch and specific the folder of esf it says "Error: ESF Could not be found on selected destination. Please choose again."
well i put the right path of the esf "C:\Sierra\Half-Life\esf"
