Error in my half life

You're trying to register HL with a HL:Opposing Forces cdkey and not an actual HL1 cdkey

Look when you bought Half Life you got 3 CD-keys. 1 for HL1, 1 for Opposing force and 1 for blue shift. The only CD-key you can register is the 1 for Half Life, but you are trying to register the Opposing Force one, but STEAM doesnt allow that. So you need to find the Half Life 1 CD-key in order to register with STEAM.

If you have a legit CD key, valve has a process for getting it on steam. You need to contact steam support and they'll get you set up.

i tried like 15 times , after that i tried by a crack program but still failed , there's another choice but i think it will be a little hard
i ask u all or someone to give me his half life game and it's serial please

P.S : i only got half life cd-key only , op forces unlock by a package and blue shift isn't in my half life

Cracks generally aren't a good idea. Another problem is that a CD key can only be used for one person, it's unlikely someone will give theirs away or get one for you.

i think i won't talk too more , iam going to play non-steam , if my half life steam doesn't work on steam then there's nothing i can do even if i talked to the support it won't make sense because they'll think i used the s.n on my half life and i try to use it on another half life
P.S : Anyone want to play with me install hamachi and i'll give him the room name and pass

You do realise that while that may work for 1.2 it wont for the Final. ESF : Final will not work at all unless you have a STEAM version of Half Life. Non-STEAM simply can not handle the changes to the game.

And again the error states that you are trying to use an Opposing Force CD-key. If that is the only CD-key you got, then you got ripped off when you bought the thing.

Half Life on steam means nothing. It has to be bound to your account. Without the account that contains Half Life having the files is nothing. You will only get "Half Life preloaded" and you wont be able to run the game unless you log into an account that has Half Life enabled on it.

You have to run HL1 once before you install ESF. Did you do that?

the problem isn't in that , i ran hl before installing esf but something wrong in hl too , and it's making wrong with esf ,the source where i installed hl tells me i open it from halflife.bat because hl.exe is not responding

Can you tell me a couple of things.

Are your GFX drivers up to date?
What graphics mode are you using?
When you open the console and type in "Version" what do you get?
Allso is it just ESF or are other Half Life mods affected as well?

I believe you did something Wrong because from the Time you buy half life through steam there is no way for it to not work with the mods you download from here or any other site.
2 possible Explanations:
1>>>You're Using Steam and you did smth wrong through install of mods and Half-Life
2>>>You are a Professional Hacked that hacked through steam and downloaded half life or tryed to make a illegal Half-Life to a legal copy of Half-Life.

3>>>I cant think anything more or less.

Brief summary:

1. Person (supposedly) bought Half-Life in the store.
2. Person (supposedly) cannot get his CD key to work on Steam.

You have two options here.

1. Call Valve, or contact them through email, and explain your problem. Provide photographic evidence that you own Half-Life 1 at the same time, if you can, as it aids your credibility.
2. Buy a new copy of Half-Life on Steam for 8 euros.

If you can't be bothered to do any of these two things, then we should not have to give you support at all.

You are using WON, or a non-steam version. There's your problem.

That is not Steam.

To add Half-Life on Steam you have to register your cdkey through the "+ ADD A GAME" button. Then launch the game by your "LIBRARY" menu. If your cdkey doesn't work, we cannot help you, only Steam support can.

Yea the splash screen you provided prooves that its WON. While i myself did port the splash over it is impossible to get the white ESF text to port over from WON to STEAM simply cause STEAM doesnt have support for that feature anymore. So there is no way to talk yourself out of it saying its STEAM.

If you are experiencing issues with registering the CD-key with STEAM go to https://support.steampowered.com/ and ask for help there. The will help you but you will most likely have to present proof of your ownership. Something like a picture of you with the CD-case of the game and the visible CD-key.
