I'll help Viper contemplate ways to balance this idea in purely a theoretical manner, which in itself will be a challenge. I like creative processes in general, hence my whole "Boss Mode" idea thread. Ideas which in theory will be good, but will not be seriously expected due to the simple logistics of it all. Furthermore I haven't even begun to determine whether or not it's feasible or legitimately possible.

But, if it helps you preserve your fragile ego, then by all means, assume whatever you wish. But if you ever feel too big for your britches then just go back and read how i systematically broke your arguments down and tossed them in to the wind with the other trash ashes. His idea, and any subsequent theoretical models which we create together would never make it in to any subsequent Elder Scrolls game aside from an MMORPG.

The best thing I think they could do with the game as far as subscription, is to remove it. Make it a one time purchase and the same with any expansions they release. It has worked very well for several other games and this is the type of game I think it would work for.
