Japanese ads are so... CONFUSING! X_X

Are there any characters you can't be?
-- Well of course, you cant be King Vegeta, Paragus, or Bulma and many more-- mainly because their not currently in the confirmed character roster. But if your referring to everyone currently confirmed to be in the game so far as of now-- the answer is a gritty, in your face, no-- there's no character that isn't playable as of yet.

Still waiting on King Cold.
-- I had forgot all about that guy-- maybe its because he lasted only 3 or 4 eps or something like that. Anyways, all im waiting for now is a confirmation of Chibi GT Goku, GT Trunks, GT Goten, and General Rildo.

Going by that logic, Cui shouldn't be in there either, nor would Grandpa Gohan and a lot of the other heavy minor characters.

King Cold wouldn't be that hard. His moves could be similar to Frieza's, but perhaps he could have a sword too (since he did use one...even though it was Trunks')

A character list was added to WhiteGuy's page: http://www.xradicaldreamers.net/scraps/list.txt
I am dissappointed, why is SSJ4 one person?, Why isn't Kig Goku in there? Where are the other androids?, Why did they make Oozaru for people just because they didn't go SSJ? Where is General Rildo??, Are these the final characters?

EDIT: I never saw Pikkon on the list.

Why would you think these are all of the characters? Besides, WhiteGuy left out a few characters which he clearly has screenshots of on his web page. Plus we have a few months until this game is supposed to be released in Japan so everything's subject to change.

(and all the information that was gathered was on a beta version of Tenkaichi 2)

Having a GT story-mode without Kid Goku is like having cereal without milk. Or a bowl.

The Z storymode looks quite impressive so far though - I can see it took a hint from Budokai 3's, but with Tenkaichi gameplay and 30 combos per character.

EDIT: Just watched the videos. The lack of fusion effects is bound to be because it's in beta. Chargeable beams look like they'll play great too.

Translations for the scans;

Well, here we go, info on Dragon Adventure.

In Dragon Adventure, it's all separated into their respective Arcs and Movies. Once picked selected Arc/Movie, you get a list of Scenarios which are now Missions.

They have listed 3 Infos of Dragon Adventure:

Info 1) Play all the missions to level up your characters.

Info 2) Now battles will have the 2 on 2 fights to make it like the DBZ story.
-Note: The fight w/ Saibaiman will be like "5 vs. 5" but'll take 2 vs. 2 for the first two fights and then a 1 on 1.

Info 3) The Story mode powers up w/ the more longer story. The mention all of DBZ, most Movies, TV Specials, and GT.
-Note: There is no mention of Dragonball...hopefully there is one since I have been looking forward for one.

They Introduce Garlic Jr. and his "Super" Garlic Jr. Form, where his Super has "Ultimate Blast" as one of his Blast moves.

Also, looking at one of the pics on the scan, they have the Main Menu(Goku on Kinto'un w/ Gohan on his shoulder), and it says "Dragon Library.

-- Here's the latest video you guys, and the quality is crisp and clear. I simply love the Shin Budokai animation added, where the beam actually hits you first, before pushing you back. That was unexpected, and that gives you a sense of a full on attack taken or executed. The stages look rather large and beautiful, and the music sounds pretty good to me-- overall, there's nothing in that video this video that dissapointed me at all. I knew what to expect, and while the actual combat doesn't look more appealing then Super Dragon Ball Z's fighting system, it still looks pretty damn good.

Nice find Diamond Princess, I didn't think there was anymore information/videos on Tenkaichi 2. That video was awesome, I liked Gohans move where he continously teleports and hits Frieza though the two people that were playing didn't seem to know what they were doing.

Wow, The significant amount of characters cannot hide the fact that this game is nearly the same as the last, The gameplay looks exactly the same, exept teleporting, By the looks of this, there is only new characters and no new features, I dont even know if I should buy it now.

On the surface it looks samey, but thats what you get if you only look skin-deep for a game's quality. The fact that they haven't changed the graphics is a'ok, in the last game they were good, it was almost everything else that needed fixing.

-In-game transformations in real-time.
-Seperate buttons for punch and kick.
-30 beat-em-up style combos per character (note; these aren't the same 30 for every character, they vary).
-Less cloning, more variation in techniques.
-More maps, characters, forms, abilities and game modes.
-Vastly improved story-mode that looks to combine Budokai 3 with Legacy of Goku II, spanning Z and parts of DB and GT.
-Added melee features for more DBZ-style moves (e.g. arcing around an enemy after swoop-hitting them in basic melee).
-Larger arenas.
-They're not even finished yet, they've got two months to add more and present it nicely.

I dunno maybe its just the sucky players but the melee looks a lot slower now =/

I also happen to think the way they've changed all the special attacks/aura's look good for some moves like coolers hand blast in the earlier vids and his supernova, but i'd rather they'd stuck more to the show, I mean tenkaichi 1's aura was almost perfect, now we have big radiating balls of crazyness sprouting from the character when they powerup, and im like... wtf? whats with this random **** you've added? also the ki blasts look so weedy and pathetic now, they've got nothing on the first tenkaichi's special effects imo, dbz has very powerful spikeyness around the attacks, this glowy shinyness lack that dbz style. This was a big step backward imo, along with the way they've taken less of the style of dbz for all the levels, its way too realistic looking. The models look like they've taken a step backwards too ingame, trunks looks like he has noodles for arms, too me they've forgotten how rigid dbz style is and made them look too smooth, as well as a lot of the faults that remained in the originals models, like for example goku's face not looking like goku at all =/

I've got my doubts.... The only thing thats keeping me interested in the game now, is the new story mode, teleport combo's, plethora of characters, transformations, bigger maps and the larger healthbars , even though special moves still look like they do more damage than they should, and they're still prettymuch cutscene's. Im feeling really disappointed now, i really loved the first game of this, me and my mates broke my pads just from playing it to death... many many hours of playtime, but there are a lot of things in this that look like they'll just piss me off, dispite all the bonus's.

The Game Developers thought that making the arua more static and more detailed would make the game look better, That's where they failed, They tried too hard.

I happen to like the new ki blasts, The old ones were all chunky like, Trunks was a little bit too short in the first one, they tried to make him look taller and ended up making him skinner, I dont know all about the Goku thing.

Eh, I didn't really like Tenkaichi's idle/charge aura, only the flying ones. I still say Budokai 3 had the best idle/charging auras in a PS2 DBZ games.

I say the game is looking pretty good from here, but that's just it: it looks pretty so far. I would like to take my hand with the combat system because it does look much more fast paced than Tenkaichi one.

A lot of the videos have sucky players which make the combat look bad (like how Super DBZ was treated). The thing about Tenkaichi-Melee that pissed me off is that all of the times, it went in a short, tedious cycle if you fought a really good computer/human. They'd block your final attack (the attack that lets you vary the melee up), then you block theirs and then you got 2 players trying to actually go somewhere. Budokai 3 didn't have the best melee, but at least it had both offence and defence on their toes.

Now as for the cosmetics of Tenkaichi, I think the new energy beams look great and though the ki blasts look scrawny, the new trails make them look more interesting. And the realistic backgrounds and such to me is seeing DBZ from another view.

Personally, I love what they've done with it. The melee attacks are no longer the small "light-tunnel" combos which are the same for every character. The graphics for the effects also seem improved, though I don't like the odd energy swirls around the power-up auras, and wish the aura colors were personalized for transformations.

The new graphics are excellent, at least for the effects. They look less sprite-like, and that Kamehameha Gohan sent was awesome, it looked extremely powerful as opposed to the cut-and-dry effects from Tenkaichi 1. Charged attacks look promising, that really has me hooked. The idea of choosing the power, instead of having "move type a": regular Kamehameha, and "move type b": Super Kamehameha is quite the improvement.

And if the story mode is anything like Budokai 3's, then I'm sold. Budokai 3's Dragon Universe was almost perfect as far as gameplay is concerned. And Tenkaichi had before-after in-game cinematics, which will have much more depth now that in-game transformations are concerned. Goku's SS3 Powerup with Majin Buu might just be a winner! I've always wanted to see that as an animation!

I also love the size and variety of maps. Roshi's island is nice, and I can't see the fight between SS Goku and 100% Frieza wthout a lava-filled 5-minutes-till-destruction planet Namek! And something tells me there are lots more we haven't seen. An expanded city map with buildings that take more hits to destroy would rock! I never like Tenkaichi's city map because it felt so small.

I have a feeling we're all going to be pleasantly surprised this Fall!
