Am I the only one who though the music in the Piccolo/Vegeta fight sounded like something out of Mega Man X?

At least it sounded better than the over-used Budokai music.
There was only 1 Budokai song that was kickass. The really dramatic one. It was the City Ruins song in B3. A.K.A. Time Chamber music in B2.

Not Budokai 3 music, that was pretty good. He means Budokai music, the first game. It was also used in Tenkaichi. Bland, uninspiring drivel

Budokai 3 music was pretty good for the stages. Even some of the storympde exclusive music were rather dramatic. I remember in Budokai 1 when Gohan went Super Saiyan 2, they were playing this dramatic, brass filled music.

But as mf said, Tenkaichi's overused it. They weren't even stage specific, they would be randomized and would fade out in the middle of the fight. It's good to see a game that's supposed to be seperate from the budokai series have its own music, especially since it is Bruce Falconer.

Japanese box art:

According to myfavoritegames (image source), this is the official Japanese box art.

I know it's not much but at least it's something...

Nice work but I really won't care until the game comes out.

I wish one, just ONE 3D DBZ game used Bruce Faulconer's music straight from the show. It would rock so hard compared to the stuff made for the Budokai games now. That's half the reason Legacy of Goku II and Buu's Fury kicked so much ass for the GBA. Before I die, I want to see at least ONE game with straight DBZ music, no substitutions!

I agree with you J-Dude =]

And that boxart is amazing, but I wish they'd put Chiaotzu on there, it's not fair to exclude one Z Fighter just because he's totally useless :p

I'm surprised they didn't put any villains on there.

$5 says the american version has Frieza, Cell, and Buu all there, but very small, but they have Broly and Hildegarn in the spotlight.

I'll take that bet.

Haha, Buu and the gingerbread man XD

It looks really tight now, with more control over melee, teleporting and dodging. There's one mild annoyance imo, and that's the 'sweep' move in melee. The speed they fall over is ridiculous, and surely if you're in mid-air and flying, gravity wouldn't have an effect on you?

Oh, and I really hope that's a sample of music we'll see in-game, because it was badass. Easily better than anything Tenkaichi 1 had to offer.

After seeing that video, the game is looking a lot better, the teleporting that tapion used seemed exactly how i'd like teleporting to be used in a dbz game. I just hope the moves arent just cutscenes... maybe the charged moves will take that away, its just I really hated how the specials ruined the pace of tenkaichi 1 =/ the sweep kinda looks annoying, tbh i'd rather they had a gut punch instead, at least that had some sort of explaination to why it immobilzed you, just a shame it was so easy to execute.

Im quite looking forward to this game now.... :p

I think the slowness of sweeping is to mimic "bullet time". Because if you compare how long it takes for someone to fall to the time it takes a DBZ character to punch, that is how slow they would relatively move.

Deathmoves are confirmed to be chargeable.
I saw a video where Goku charged a Kamehameha, it was on YouTube but now it's down =/

That video is actually from an older build, the newest one was the one seen in comicon or something...

Basicly, the game is much better then you can see from that video.
Ohh, hair movement is also confirmed, those little things make the game so much better then the first.

Ive seen that video, but it seems only the standard moves like kamehameha, galic gun etc, are the ones you can charge, rushes still are a cut scene's as well as ultimates, plus i dont think the ammount of damage during the charge is still that balanced, 18000 to 24000 max, thats only 1/3'rd of the damage you can charge, imo it should be more like 6000 to 24000, so you could charge it two thirds. I really hated beams in the first one, they just ruined the game imo, you could be clearly winning against your opponent, absolutely kicking their ass and then they'd chuck a beam in after a gut punch/ki wave (triangle move) or a throw and you'd be almost dead, sometimes you would be dead. Plus the ammount of loopholes where your beam is garenteed to hit was rediculous. Rushes werent as bad to counter but they still did unjustified damage when they landed, both types of special moves are not justified for just pressing 2 or 3 buttons together imo, and the teleport timing just wasnt clear enough for the ammount of distance variation. Im just preying to god that 2 wont be the same.

It looks to me like they're trying to recreate the teleport "chase" system from Budokai 3. I don't doubt that that will make this game badass. The beams look a lot better. Vegeta's Final Flash now has its charisma back. I agree that Tenkaichi 1's teleport dodge system was wacked. I could never figure it out, it was so confusing and only worked half the time. I'd get owned when I thought I could teleport dodge a beam instead of running away. I wish they'd add a "push beam" feature like in ESF, where you can throw a beam off, but they shouldn't change the camera view like in Tenkaichi 1, that really took away from it imo.

Otherwise I love how vast the arenas seem now, much better than the cramped close-quarters from the first one. I also love the personalized melee special moves. Anythings better than the lame "light tunnel" combo.

If they MUST change the view, they should have a zoomed out camera to see the Whole powerstruggle from a side view, changing the angle depending on who is winning.
