Since the ESF forums were down for the last two days, I fell back on the GameFAQ's/Gamespot forums. Firstly, there's this thread, which contains all of the release info, known characters, features and facts regarding Tenkaichi 2.

Secondly, Donny Clay/Tonkatsu has stated on the Atari Forums that there's a King Kai Planet stage. Whether this has gravity that lets players walk on the undersurface of the planet (thus meaning you could run around forever without hitting a barrier) or allows you to fly off onto Snake Way is unknown. At the moment this is just a verbal confirmation, like Pikkon and Garlic Jr.

Thirdly, the voice actor for Pikkon has posted on his blog about how he was recording Pikkon voicebites for Tenkaichi 2. Whether this means he's just an NPC in Story Mode or an actual playable character remains to be seen, but I think there's a good chance he'll be playable if they include him at all (plus he's playable in Shin Budokai).

Fourthly, next update is Friday 21st, when the new magazines are released, bought, scanned and posted. Hopefully we'll see some of this 'verbally confirmed' stuff or maybe something new (Meta Cooler was a nice surprise). Looking forward to it.

Oh yeah, it's probably been mentioned already but alternate costumes are in, at least two per character.

Here you go ;o

At first I was confused by the addition of Zhangya and Sauza. If you're adding one henchmen, wouldn't you have to add them all? Then it occured to me that they might have unique fighting styles, which i'm all for because it means less clone characters.

Bido or Bujin would've been better choices than Zhangya imo, purely because they had more moves, but maybe Spike will give their moves to her (remember Cooler with Sauza Blade?).

Another speculation is that with the inclusion of Yajirobe, Evil King Piccolo might not be far off either, seeing as Goku fought Yajirobe before Piccolo, so they both might appear in the story mode, Dragon Ball era. Otherwise Yajirobe's only other function would be his two hits in the Saiyan Saga.

-- YES!!!! finally, another female character, damn it took them long enough. And i loved Sauza, i found him to be very amusing in movie 5, because he never understood what he was getting himself into-- so im glad to see he made it in as well. But where the hell is my GT Dragon and Pan already-- they better make it in this time.

You know if this is true we are looking at the best dbz game of all times, i really hope it is, the way the controls sounds, sounds like it kicks major ass.

Everyone, EVERYONE! Look unto me! For I bring you all good news! I have seen the top of the mountain! Alright, enough of the dramatic stuff.

Okay, I signed up to do volunteer work at Comic-Con today, and I got to go INTO the convention center in what they call "Preview Night". I got to wander around the exhibits and stuff, it was fun.

And then I found it.

THE DBZ BOOTH!!!

WITH playable disks of Super DBZ... and Tenkaichi 2.

This is taken from the IGN boards.

Please note that the following was witnessed with my own two eyes and EVERY word of it is 100% true, swear it on my grandfather's grave.

And not just "you're this guy and you fight this guy and that's all you get", either. I counted more than 135 characters, and it's not even the complete list.

I was a little disappointed at the level of glitches in this demo, as they were all centered around the new characters who are as follows (to the best of my recollection):

1. They have brought back the Supreme Kai, Uub (from GT) and Majuub, PLUS Omega Shenron, both with all the Dragon Balls in his chest and the form before it.

2. Grandpa Gohan and Yajirobe. These two suffered the most glitches, and were virtually unplayable.

3. Baby Vegeta now possess his previous form, with those big things sticking out of his shoulders.

4. Hildegarn is ******* AWESOME!!! End of comment.

5. Minor henchmen like Cui and PuiPui are in, as well as Cooler's henchman (with the blond hair).

6. Pikkon is in. YES!!! Suffers from glitches, unfortunately.

7. Pan is selectable, so all you pedophiles can shut up, now. Didn't bother playing her, she was useless.

8. Broly, Bojack, and Cooler have previous forms (for Broly, just plain Super Saiyan with blond hair and blue eyes, or possible his restrained form, I can't quite remember).

Now for the controls, which kick ASS!!!

Same control scheme as Tenkaichi, with improvements.

1. No longer can you spam [][]... X anymore, as that funtion has been more or less moved to the /\ button.

2. /\ still serves as shockwave attack after [], but with alterations. ^+/\ knees your opponent in the chin, knocking them straight into the air. v+/\ trip your opponent, where two options are available. 1. You can press ^+/\ to grab your opponent by the foot and hurl em through the air or 2. Follow up with two more /\'s for a teleportation combo. Which brings me to:

3. Teleporting. After a Dragon Smash, simply pressing /\ and any direction will teleport your character in front of you opponent and smash them in that direction.

4. Combos. Various combos between the [] and /\ button are available and differ from character to character, based on their form or girth (physical size). Ex: Hildegarn can do a [][][][] for a four hit combo, followed by /\/\/\ for three bigger, more damaging blows.

5. Shin Budokai elements. Techniques like the Kamehameha can be charged before firing for maximum damage, and there is no cutscene before the attack is launched (meaning real-time), AND it can be aimed with the direction pad (track opponent if they're dashing).

*faints* *recovers* That's what I got from THREE HOURS of playing, and I STILL didn't get into what they have done of story mode or other arenas. But I will tomorrow, cuz I'm getting into Comic-Con for FREE all four days, and I intend to camp out near the DBZ booth and learn as much as I can about the game and pass it on to you. And please, no WUL's. You'd have all done the same thing.

Oh, and the game was in Japanese, so I couldn't read the names of the attacks. Which sucks becuase there's this one move that Omega Shenron does where he knocks the opponent into the air, and as they start to fall back down, he impales them on the spikes on his back, then he runs an electric current throught them to fry the opponent. It's awesome.

I'll be taking many notes so that my next update will be more detailed. I'll also have a camera with me so I can take screenshots, upload them to my comp, and post them here.

Love and peace, everyone, this is Whitey McSee-Through, signing off. If you have any questions, just ask and I'll try to clarify as much as possible.

Edit: NVM, I'm wiped. I'm heading off to bed now, so your question will have to wait until tomorrow.

The guy had 666 posts on ign, so he might be credible, we will find out soon i guess.

What a jerk...just for that he can burn in hell-- no one is allowed to have an negative opinion on Pan whatsoever.

PLUS Omega Shenron
I hope all of this is true though. ^_^

Indeedy, I was hoping for Pan (she does actually have attacks, nay-sayers), and all the Shadow Dragons they can cram in, not just Omega (glad he's starting as Syn too). Also, GT Kid Goku + Pan would make a good tag-team for the GT segment of Story Mode. With the inclusion of Baby Vegeta's second form, looks like GT is getting a bit more attention, and Grandpa Gohan emphasizes Dragon Ball a bit too.

I know there are some people on the forum who don't care much for GT, or think Dragon Ball is boring because of it doesn't focus on transformations and earth shattering energy blasts, but frankly i'm glad they're including so much DB/DBGT. Don't get me wrong, I love DBZ, but three Budokai's, the GBA series and the last Tenkaichi have made me sick of the same ol' story with the same ol' characters. How many people can say they know the GT story as well as the Z one? It's a quarter of it's length.

Dragon Ball fares a little better, but it's only had one game afaik (the recently released and pretty decent 'Advanced Adventures' on GBA). Tenkaichi is straying from the DBZ-centric path the other games followed so religiously and, because it's not the same old story with the same old characters, I think it'll work - and hopefully surprise a few people along the way.

Oh and Friday 21st is when the new magazine scans will be up, so they might confirm some of the statement in Mogwai's post, we'll just have to wait (unless the scan was the one Mogwai posted already, leaked out).

Something that threw me was the fact that it has over 130 characters and they're still adding them. The official Japanese website sets the roster at 'Over 100', and Donny Clay said '130' (including forms). I wonder what the real number will end up at?

-- Exactly! Thank You Ravey, finally someone who understands that. Besides, if they can throw in Tapion a guy who showed no attacks whatsoever, then shunning Pan again would be just unfair. And ive been praying for Chibi GT Goku since Budokai 2. I always thought GT was always better then Z anyway, maybe its because i began watching GT before i saw any of Z whatsoever-- didnt see Z until i had finished the GT series.

So im really hoping the put alot of focus, detail and alot of time into GT's and Dragonball's part of the story mode and additions more then anything.

There are supposly 2 scans lying around somewhere, when i went to look at them it was red x's but from what the scans showed a guy said bojack has his pretransform model, thats all i know so far, if you can find them more power to ya.

So far this is helping to prove what the guy said at IGN boards, we will find out today he is suppose to be back with new info pics/vids as well.

Mogwai, thanks for contributring to the thread but please don't double post, just edit, this thread gets loads of views daily, there's no way we could miss it :p

Lol @ Yajirobe vs. Oozaru Vegeta. I wonder how that plays out. Defeat him? Land a hit from behind? Sneak up without being spotted? Hopefully one of the latter for gameplay variation.

Assuming the Goku + King Kai pic is story mode, it looks like these cutscenes will be the best yet, like Budokai 1's but cel-shaded.

It's also nice to see Piccolo's full cape outfit as a costume, I don't think any PS2 DBZ game had it.

Also I didn't notice when I read it the first time, but chargeable beams are in, finally.

Sorry didn't realize i was the last one to post, so the double post was a mistake on my part, meh bad.

Yeah they seem to have alternate costumes now, about dam time!

I can't really tell but this is a theory.

EDIT: Look closely at the second picture. There is a screenshot of Yajirobe hiding from Ape Vegeta in-game. Now look at the radar. Is it just me, or does it seem like the radar is depicting at least a third combatant? Perhaps Goku fighting Ape Vegeta? It would make sense, since Yajirobe DID sneak up on Vegeta while he was busy with Goku rather than facing Vegeta head on in a fight. Could this mean more than 2 people can be fighting at once?

I don't see a third combatant. If the radar system is the same as Tenkaichis, the yellow dot is the player, the green cone represents his field of vision and the direction the camera's facing, and the blue arrow is the enemy, in this case Oozaru Vegeta. I don't see anything else on the radar, or the map.

I think it's safe to say she's in. Some of the predictions made by the guy who went to comic-con have been confirmed in the scans. Other people on GameFAQ's forums who've been to comic-con have also confirmed what he said to be truth.

One poster also said that Grandpa Gohan has the Kamehameha (kinda obvious) but the current build crashes if it makes contact with the enemy ;)

Master Roshi's transformation has been confirmed if I'm not mistaken.
