LionHeart you think it's a scam eh? Well if it was a scam how would it help me? Thats the question you need to ask yourself we have nothing to gain from this we're just giving back to the community and since I've been in the mod world for a very long time I figured having a Modeling Contest would be something cool to do. Anyways I'll have our forums up soon but posting your models here is a great idea. Anyways have fun and hope to see your finish work soon god bless and have a great day!

So I'm supposed to belive that a random guy who came out of nowhere is giving out 5000$ to 1 out of 5 modelers just for taking their time a day or so to make a model?

you can believe whatever you like. But if you think I came to this site out of nowhere you need to do your research a little better I've been on these forums for years, I've ran a few mods back in my younger days

But I understand where your coming from but you'll see at the end of this contest that my word is good! Anyhow only time will tell what comes from my contest just have some faith in me and one day you could be the winner of some of our give a ways good day

lol funny character i had different name and I'm pretty sure the forums was reset a few years back! and i don't post on the forums i send private messages i'm only posting here to give the contest information out but since you know so much you'd know that i know most of the top modelers from all of the top mods that's never been released the only dbz mod member i know that has release thus far is Rodney from bid for power. my aim sn is Derrenus23, all of the top modelers should know me by that name ask them and they'll gladly tell you i've been around for years

yes and to be sure it's their model i'll ask the creator for extra shots not shown in the contest like i said we have nothing to gain from this contest i don't want or need the models. but we're turning this thread into something it's not suppose to be so if you have any other questions for me feel free to pm me and i'll gladly answer any question for you

and also i don't need to prove who i am it's pointless at this point! it's up to you if you want to enter or not if you choose to enter thank you and best of luck to you! and if you choose to believe it's a joke sorry your loss not mines anyways good luck to all that enter btw me or my staff won't be judging this contest so it's up to your peers to make you an winner.

Seriously, I can see why noone wants to enter this contest.

A) Your poly limit is somewhere between 3,000-10,000 polies. 7000 polies between the highest and lowest polycount?! 3,000 is considered normal while 10,000 is significantly higher. How are you going to judge on that? I mean, person A might go for 3,000 polies and skin in any folding in the clothing. While the person B who goes for 10,000 polies can model them in and get it to look better in 3d. But his skinning sucks. Still, person B wins because his folds look better modeled, and the judges don't bother looking at the skinned folds.

B) What is more important, the way the model looks or if it also technically correct. Ie. proper deforming when animating, effective use of polies, etc.

C) A certain theme?

To be honest, if I could model, I wouldn't join either. I'd much rather join the Dominance War. Just for the sole reason that you actually know what to do, what is allowed to do, and what is not. It just that much better organised than this.

Also, someone here actually critiqued my model and said the shoulders were too wide.

They were right xD, and the shape of them was off, but I tweaked them.

feel free to critique the shoulders or any other *flaw you can see*.

Well, I actually got help from a buddy on this forums( I duno if he wants me to mention his name) on how to skin, but I'm not sure if i'll be able to do it effectively when i get to it.

I also asked SV for some coloring advice =] that I think will come in handy when i start photoshoping textures or details .

Here is katana I made a while ago, but I don't know if this should be his weapon. Any suggestions on what gear/armor/weapons he should have=}?

Looks awesome.
I'd suggest since hes all muscular and stuff, maybe keep his katana but avoid going for the traditional ninja look... instead give him weapons that qualify as brute strength melee weapons... could be a bigger version of the katana, maybe some body armor to go along with it... and maybe one of those big heavy steel boomerangs that he can use to take enemies down in masse... like the one blade (the vampire) has.

How can I give any comments on a model you meshsmoothed, rendered, and not even given any wireframe screenshots so I can see how your flow looks? next time you want comments on your model, dont meshsmooth it -_-.

I will try and give you some comments, but dont expect much...

The body has no define shape to it, due to it being meshsmoothed. It has not ass, upper arms look to short, lower arm looks to long and to skinny. Go look at yourself in a mirror, and see how your arms look because if they look like your model, you may need to see a doctor asap.

For a model that is standing at 919 polys, you sure as hell dont have any defining shapes or details in your model. You could make the same model (as it is now) with less polys, which would give more polys to use for details. You may claim this as a base model, but thats alot of poly usage for even a base model with little to no detail in it.

Comparing your models shoulders to the torso, they seem to wide. Bring them in more.

Thats all I have right now, without a drawing or a basic concept I cant give you anymore comments as right now its nothing more then a pinkish blob with a small ass :S. Sorry to sound harsh, but presentation means alot when it comes to asking for crits and comments.

You were right~! the forearms were too long, what do you mean he has no arse !?

As for defining shapes, could you be abit more specific about what you mean plz o_o

What I mean is, the torso has no defined pecs, Biceps have no defined shape to them either. But I cant tell if you have modeled them in since you meshsmoothed the model and its rounded everything off so its hard to tell what detail you have put into the model.

Show me a flatshaded viewport screenshot with a wireframe overlay so I can give you more details on what I think could be improved upon.

Welp for insecure reasons!(contest) ~ i cant do that !!

But i can do this =]





Added slight definition in the chest and abs.

Now a Poly count of 957 Polies.

LOL a friend just helped me with the polygon counter in 3dsmax and it turns out.. the counter was counting my model AND the other copies of my mode's arm/shoulder/plane etc.. that i was usin as backups incase i messed up.

I now changed my counter to count polies in my "Selection". Here is the REAL count of my model.

Polies: 544
Tries: 1,090
verts: 551
