<p><b>Bloom Shaders</b><br />Earlier this week, Raven started to work on Bloom Shaders. Here are some screenshots showing these. Obviously, this is a WIP. congrat to doormat,nice bloom shader team.the game is coming to look to real with the news skys,wather,now bloom shader.PERFECT!.

It looks very good. Is it possible to rise their sizes for a more detailed view?

I think he means if u could increase the resolution of the bloom screenies ;).

That update really suprised me, it now looks even better than on the screens before! Excellent work team, it blew my mind:cool:.

hmmm, i noticed something, shouldnt the water be reflecting the map as well?, from what i see its only reflecting the skybox :p
and about the bloom, it looks nice, but i wold turn it off whyle playing, it can be a bit eye bothering

The bloom is actually thought to be an effect for low on health or when hit with melee.

Then again its just a preview of the post processing that Raven built into half life.

And the water only reflects the skybox. Making it reflect the map would probably lag a bit.

Besides the entire water shader is still heavy WIP.

Looks exactly like the "glow" effect you can find in various MMO games.

Either way, it looks ugly.

Will there be an option to turn it off?

Er, you can AA ESF no problem. It's not part of HL, but you can set it using whatever control program your video card uses. IE open up the nvidia control panel and you can force whatever settings (Resolution, AA/AF, Mapping, etc) you want.
