Originally all the civilian mods were in off topic. Deverz was the first super moderator.

When vt was preparing to retire, I asked him if I could help out with the insanity. At that time the place was a little out of control. We had the clan forum, which was a non stop flame pit, and when it left we had the spam forum, which was a really, really, really bad Idea.

So I just asked him, "Give me some power so I can clean this fecking place up."

And he said: "Sure!"

I became an IRC channel OP, and started as a super moderator. After a few months, he made Cheeseman and myself the first Civilian Administrators, as the Dev team could no longer handle the duty, and he was on his way out.

The rest is history, as Cheeseman and I were allowed to set policy on the board from that day on.

Then after me getting hired fired promoted and demoted a few times I finally became the next civillian Admin

Anyway where are my fans everyone only talks about cuc or the others

my legacy to become an admin one day is still there. but to be honest, I think we've got a good set of admins atm, and there are not really any new ones needed. current ones are doing an excellent job.

hmm...well sometimes i really want to kill some of the mods and stuff. but thinking about it the ESF community is pretty big and a lot of spam and **** is here.
well i think overall they´re just doing theyr job to keep the forum clean . but maybe sometimes it would be better to delete a post or something in a thread before closing it .

All I can say is that I'm fortunate to be a part of the forum staff team, all of them are great people and most do their job in an outstanding fashion. And I have always looked up to Cuc and Maj for getting inspiration on dealing with hard cases and wierd threads.

I didn't read all of the thread, but my general stance is that I think you people take this forum a bit too seriously sometimes. I can't say that we have enough active members that it needs such strict regulation. Whatever.

I've had my many encounters with the moderation and administration here, heh. What have I got to say? Well.. If I was completely honest, I'd probably get in trouble. There's just always a lot of saving face and unjust use of priveleges.

If I was elected Moderator, I'd be able to go into you your threads and give you warnings for reasons that didn't exactly fit in the AUP but rather my personal feelings. I could harass you for whatever reason I saw fit and then I would get away with it.

Also how are you going to warn me, an admin. The only people that have the authority are other admins, Masta and Greg. And technically other admins really can't do that either.

Mods don't harrass users. If a mod has harrassed you report it and it will be delt with.

With your track record you have -100% chance or becoming a mod.

Hibiki is the only one I really have had any issues with. He's close-happy, and rather insulting to new people. Even valid questions sometimes get extremely impolite responses from him.

Other than that, you guys are pretty cool.

Wow, heh. I guess you read that entirely wrong. That was my campaign speech, not directly sent to you. But uh.. I guess I'm getting a warning anyway. Also, this thread's about how we feel about the moderation staff, right? Well, that's how I feel. I didn't think I'd get in trouble for posting my opinion in a thread asking for opinions.

This thread is not about campaigning to become a mod it's about telling the mods what you think about them and how they are doing. If that stuff happened you should have complained to an admin or to the mod themselves.

There is a chain of command, don't like something go higher up, simple.

you are very good at what you do.
BUT i saw a very odd thing. some1 asked when you started 1.2 (NOT WHEN YOU ARE FINISHED) yet a mod
said "when its done" and closed the thread. WTF!?!?!?
is this normal for a mod to do so!?!?!?i repeat and say:
he asked when you STARTED not when you are finished.

A mistake I would guess, We get alot of 1.2 threads they probally didn't think to read it too see if it was different. May have been in a hurry to go somewhere.

That would be something else you could PM a mod about. Things are debatable but most won't change without good cause
