i personally think the mods are doing ok. BUT, there have been instances that i've seen mods get away with stuff that us normal forum-goers would normally be warned for. then if someone calls them out on that, the mod would say something to the effect of, "stop trying to be a mod" or "keep this up and ill warn you".

so basically, less of that would be nice.

PS Hal's got my vote! YOSH!!!!!!!

Too bad moderators aren't elected.

It would be nice if people reported that kind of abuse to the administration, you can use the report to moderator button on a moderator, all the mods, smods and admins get emailed when you do.

hmm...

i just figure that they--as a mod-- should be mature(or whatever) enough to know not to abuse their privileges. I also figure that other mods/smods/admins read the forums too and that they--as mods/smods/admins--would see fit that EVERYONE have the same rules. but ok, you want me to be an "informant". I'll do it...for a small donation.

From the two people who mentioned me, it seems people are pleased with my performance. But I am constantly trying to improve myself. Lately, I think I have been "letting some stuff go" for the sake that some things are just in silly fun and I don't need to a big hard ass all the time.

But I hope that my presence makes the forum a better place. If not, then I've got some work to do.

How about some examples of moderators abusing their privileges? Occasionally we do sort of spam, and we are granted more leniancy than regular users to that effect (sometimes), but considering we're actually working for the forums buys us some room to breathe. Employees at target get a discount but I don't here people that don't work there complaining that they don't get one.

Now, if you're talking about flaming or something, I can personally vouch that moderators are not treated differently than regular users (I've recieved kinds of "warnings" for flaming once or twice since I became a mod, and if I had kept it up I wouldn't be one anymore). Most of the time the users abuse the mods, not visa versa.

well some of the admins are pretty good. BUT i dont find the fact someone gets a warning for telling someone else PLZ stay on topic and something on topic about whatever that thread is about. Just telling them like

offtopic: plz stay on topic

ontopic: blah blah blah i like KarrdeKNR the best 5/5

yea. And also i think boltah is cool but way too mean.

like this

http://forum.esforces.com/showthread.php?t=40606 someone was just asking for help. I dont see how thats against any forum rules but if it is plz say so.

And at the time this got me real pissed.
http://forum.esforces.com/showthread.php?t=38480&page=2
He closed cause it was a MINOR skin edit in his opinion and terrible looking and also cause people were leaving cause of him. HE HAD PROPER PERMISSION AND EVERYTHING. i dont see y he was bashed like that. And i dont blame him for getting angry i would get angry too.

i dont think that gives him the right to close a thread but he is a mod he can do whatever but i think it is kinda unfair.

again this is just my opinion.

and also i think closing someones thread because a retarded newb came in and said somthing is kinda stupid. Just do somethin to the person not the whole thread.

@assaf- I assume you mean this ( http://forum.esforces.com/showthread.php?t=40740 ) thread. If so, please point out where I abused my rights or privaleges... You chastised me in this thread for doing my job; moderating a suggestion thread, asking you to bring evidence to your claim that there was an issue, and I responded to you without even giving you a warning. Some people would call that leniant.

don't be afraid, you are allowed what you want to say, as long as you keep it flame-free. we're all not that bad, we just try to maintain a certain control here so that things dont get out of hand. speaking your oppinion like that is totally legit.

Overall good job, however!

If someone says (so not a mod) don’t spam, simply because that person would like to have that thread not being closed, I find it a bit harsh that sometimes he/she gets a warning for that, okay if everybody would do that it wouldn't be good as well. But i also would like to see a great model get finished instead of being closed time after time again.

Also if someone asks for an update some people get a warning while others don’t, that irritated me allot to be honest. :\

For the rest good job, this forum is one of the best, and I compared it to others :).

As a previous super mod on this forum I can look at this 2 ways. 1) In the eye of the users or 2) In the eyes of a forum staff member. I only read the first page and a bit of the second so if I repeat something I'm sorry I just don't feel like reading 2 more pages heh.

So I will get to the point. First Hsu and Hibbers are a great part of the staff and Yes I do see Mr. Hibiki warn/ban a lot of users being on both sides but in every case he has done the right thing in my honest opinion. I rarely ever see hsu post even in the sekret staff section hehe.

The next point I got to bring up is they are taking time out of their schedule to help this community out and I give all the forum staff a pat on the back for that aslong as they are not abusing their powers like a lot of the staff I know cough*groovy*cough hehe. It doesn't matter if they visit the forum 50x a day or 2 times a day aslong as they don't go inactive for a long period of time. Its nice to see some of the mods/admins post in the pub section but yet that really doesn't bug me if they don't participate in any thread because I still see their name down on the front page of the forum scanning through posts and once in a while I just click cucumber and see what posts he is checking out and if their worth reading or not haha :)

So the point I'm trying to make is rating every staff member with individual marks is pointless when one mod/admin might be weak in some section but maybe another is stronger in that section its like a family if you need help their there or if you want to talk their there just keep that in mind next time you think one of the mods/admins is being a nazi in your opinion because you need to look at the picture on both sides and not just on yours.

I think this is the longest post I've ever made here and oh ya one other thing

GET SOMEONE TO CLEAN UP THOSE STICKIES AND MAKE SURE HE CAN DO A GOOD ENOUGH JOB AS ME. Thats my only complaint ;)

Sincerely
Phobius

This is what I mean by taking it too seriously. That sounds like cookie cutter propaganda bull**** from the first World War. Why don't you guys stop sugar coating everything? It sounds dumb.

Not attacking you personally ET, but that sounds so fake.

This is not barney.

There's a difference between commenting on the Moderator's performance, either bad or good, and just plain being a jackass.

What concern is it of yours if he wants to say something sugar coated? Because YOU think it sounds dumb? Get over yourself.

Yes, I think it sounds dumb. Who else would I be speaking for?

What concern of yours is it if I want to give my opinion? Are you negating my opinion or something? I'm sure you'd love that ability, but fact is people out there smarter than you can think for themselves, thanks.

Well, feel free to attack me, I don't really care. This is all I have to say..

Feel free to get yourself banned if you don't stop abusing that arrogant attitude. This thread is about critiquing how we do our jobs, not how we talk to other people on the internet. If you're going to attack us each personally for how we sound you're going to get warnings. Exactly how is that supposed to negatively effect the forum?
