500 was actually less than I was expecting, but that's still high. What games did they show?
The PS3 was 600 when it came out. That was quite a bit of money.

Killer Instinct, Dead Rising 3, Ryse, Quantum something or another (made by Remedy, so its destined to be fairly good), Forza and some other bullshit I couldn't be assed to remember.

Oh, and Halo.

400 dollar price point for PS4.

I liked the exclusives better from Microsoft (Dead Rising 3!), but Sony has the better price point, lack of privacy concerns, and allows you to have used games and play without an internet connection. At this point I'm going with the PS4.

Agreed. 400 is a very fair price for a system, and PS4 had some of my favorites going for it. (KH3 **** yeah, and Final Fantasy Versus XIII/XV whatever the ****.)

The only exclusive I liked on the PS4 is the last of us, but having access to the PS3 catalogue is enough to push me in sony's direction. Also, used games means cheap games, and I'm always in favor of that.

--- edit ---

Hey, Dark. Start saving, cause you're going to be paying for PSPlus if you want to play online.

It isn't like Sony showed much of anything in the way of exclusives.

Am I the only one who noticed that the majority of the mindblowing Xbox exclusives were nothing short of kinda average to straight out dreadful?

I mean let's look at what I saw up til now of gameplay trailers:
Killer Instinct: Double Helix is involved. Remember those guys? They made the astounding G.I. Joe and Battleship movie licensed games. Also the trailer: What in the hell. It was like those trailers that everybody and their mother parody: "EXTREEEEEEEEME, INTEEEEENSE It will make your chest hair grow chest hair!" And all I saw was a streetfighter style fighting game with choppy animations that tend to repeat. A lot. Maybe there is some charm I am missing.
Dead Rising 3: Why so serious? No seriously show me how I can make zombies funny. This game doesn't seem bad, but it doesn't seem Dead Rising either... maybe we need to wait for more.
Ryse: Get it? Because he is "rising"... Ok I can safely say I'm glad they are making a spectacle fighter in a fantasy roman setting but seriously guys can you do something about the enemy variety. I swear all enemies shown looked exactly the same so unless it's a "Attack of the Barbarian clones, who all have the same Axe and equipments" type of story that kinda puts me off a bit. The spectacle and combat seem decent but how long until you get tired of doing the same QTE? And please tell me that game was meant to be in another language because that lip-sync is dreadful, though that could get fixed until it comes out, but still good grief.
Quantum Break: Shamelessly quoting TB here but "Nope still don't know what the hell this is."

I don't remember if it was promised that we would get blown away by the exclusives, but frankly I personally barely felt a breeze.
If I've seen games that blew me away it was games that were anything but exclusive to anything...

I see nobody has mentioned Project Spark here? Was nobody at all impressed with that? Although it will be available for Xbox1 and Windows 8 which definitely doesn't warrant getting a console just for it. I think Xbox did show better exclusives like the Forza 5 and NBA Live making a come-back and all looks great and because GranTurismo 6 is not coming out on next-gen, Sony kinda "scratched their foot" there. I say scratched instead of "shot themselves in the foot" because they have definitely drove Xbox One into the ground with their no-DRM, no-online, used games allowed K.O. blow. Also that only means GT will still come to PS4; just later.

I found it very bizarre how TC: The Division is not coming to PC as well since it is, after all, MMO central.

I could also see how Sony is trying to push the failure that is PS Vita similar to how Microflop is waving the Smartglass app around but not quite as successful.

Btw for those who didn't know Sony has a Kinect device itself called the PS Eye which now has a 2nd camera that tracks depth and stuff "precisely". However unlike with the Xbox One package, the PS Eye is an addon and you have to pay extra for it "$59 (£44 and €49)" (Source: http://www.engadget.com/2013/06/11/sonys-playstation-4-eye-is-a-59-add-on-ps4-packs-a-500gb-hdd/). Strangely enough the price is exactly the same as for an extra DualShock 4 Controller. In addition, the PS4 has HDD upgrades available as it also says in that article.

As for the PSPlus service, it was only a matter of time till they got on that bandwagon and I say good for them. Price is fair and plenty of benefits.

The real question we should be asking ourselves here is, which console is gonna host the best next-gen DBZ/Marvel/DC games ^^?

Also, has anybody thought about this: If the new consoles are so similar to PC architecture, how easy do you guys reckon it will be for someone to emulate them on PC?

Honestly the only reason why I never went to Playstation before is because f*ck their controller shape. Now that its more like the 360's controller, I'll have no problem with the PS4. Either way though, still going to game primarily on my PC. all these negative aspects of the new Xbox and Playstation point me to the Wii U. mario and zelda never failed to disapoint me.

I agree, I went Wii U simply because it's gonna have all the games that I love on it. I don't care about it's specs, honestly.

And what, pray tell, blew you away as far as PS4 exclusives?
Didn't you read the last line. I said that the games that blew me away were not exclusives. Like the new Metal Gear Solid, which apparently was presented as an Xbox exclusive but it's not, the freaking Witcher 3.

But if you do want to know there are 4 games that caught my eye in the exclusive PS lineup, not that I said PS not PS4 and one is the new inFAMOUS which looks really promising as far as a Prototype style entertainment would go, well I'm saying Prototype style but inFamous kinda did this first. Destiny looks very interesting and I have to say I am surprized this is an exclusive considering it's made by the people behind Halo and that shows because it reminds me a lot of Halo. The last of us, do I really need to tell you about The Last of US? Surprisingly enough, Knack looks really interesting. I really don't know what to say about it, but something about, if I'm not mistaken, playing as a golem that changes in shapes and size tickles a special place that few games ever tickle. I dunno. These games actually make me want to have a PS4. As much as I would like to play the new Dead Rising and funnily enough that Ryse game, 4 games beat 1 and a half games in my book.

Edit: Actually 2 and a half games. I forgot Sunset Overdrive.

That was entirely my point. The PS4 showed almost nothing in the way of exclusives. Destiny is a multiplatform game. It isn't an exclusive. Infamous looks okay for a cinematic, but I've seen nothing in terms of actual gameplay to suggest it'd be different from the last 2. The Last of Us looks pretty amazing, but it's also going to have almost no replay value. The rest were completely forgettable to me.

Sony's presentation was all about what it isn't--and xbox one--and not what it would provide us in the way of exclusives. It's for that reason that XBO presentation was stronger when it came to actual games.

That said, I'm leaning towards the PS4 solely because of its hardware at this point.
