I've never made a medium-poly model so this is my first time. It will be around 2500 in the end (1700) right now. So it will run fine in HL on current computer stats. (≈2000 should run fine)

yeah. its really good. WAY better than i can do. 1 crit: it looks like he got a flat head on top, or its my eyes.

Off-Topic: Where did you get those ref pics? Iv'e searched the web for at least 10 minutes and havn't found any ref pics for a Chibi Goku. Better go look again!!

I don't think it's your eyes, his head is kinda flat at the top. I should probably add a few polys to round it off more.

The ref pics were made from a group dbz pic by Akira Toriyama that I traced
and altered. It's an awesome picture for referance cuz it basicly had all the Z
warriors from the front and it was by Toriyama himself. The original pic of kuririn
looked like this (after I traced it)

If you would like to edit a lower poly version of this when I'm done that would
be great. That way people with weaker machines can run it too! ;D Should I give it you before or after I map it?

omfg, a modeller that models from scratch without ripping (cloning) and editing

there are now 4 modellers on these boards that do that !unf

anyway, its pretty amazing model, only think i can see wrong = waaay to high polycount (yes 2000 is way too high, ok, hl can run it, but it will take a giant bite out of the performance) it would be amazing of you could keep it around 1300 polies :x

if you have 3dsmax, there are polycrushing tools that can redo ur model to a desired polycount

Acctually on current processors & cards HL will run 2000 poly models without a noticealbe performance drop.

The average when it came out was 800 polys. And that was on a P2 200, 32 mb RAM, 16 mb GX Card. Average now is a P4 2 GH, 256 mb RAM, 64-128 mb GX Card. 2000 should run fine.

correct, I've done 2 low poly models before. I figured I'd start heading toward med-poly since everything is heading that way.

The way I'm going to map it will require me to do it in half. (so that I can just copy and flip certain parts and they will be done).

So I'll be sending the model to you in half, that way you can take advantage of
that when you map it, or do whatever you want.(plus I don't want to map both models, I hate mapping :D) :yes:
