Heh, i think i found the problem, he looks angry. I've associated krillen with cowardice, that determined look is just rare for him.
Wow, I can't think of anything more untrue about Krillin. He's allmost allways the weakest one of his group, yet willing to be there to fight those whos power power dwarfs his by 1000 fold. I mean he fought FRIEZA, cut off his tail, then mocked him:

As a matter of fact, you you look through the Frieza saga in the Manga, nearly every picture of kuririn has a scowel more drastic than the one I put on the model. I'm very suprised to hear people say they never see kuririn angry/determined. I think it's because they make him much more of a wuss in the anime than he originaly was in the Manga.

Off topic: Krillian . . . he's the bravest one there. He freaks out sometimes, like when he's dealing with Bulma, but in battle he's the bravest warrior. He fights not just Frieza, but CELL as well, even though he hadn't a ghost of a chance.

On-top: this is an excellent model, and you should keep up the work. I will definately download this one when it is finished.

Kuririn is my second favorite character in DBZ. I think he's funny, and tough all in one. I mean common, he was the first person to attack perfect cell! IMO, Kuririn has the biggest balls in DBZ! :laff:

I love how this is coming out man, really. Once it's finished, i'm going to play Kuririn all the time in ESF, although I already am because of your reskin.

Oh yeah, a principal which you ALWAYS adhere to. And Darksun, are his forehead dots supposed to be that big?

nah i find tienshinhan much braver then krillen ever was, he risked his life more then he has agianst cell and even majin buu, and unlike krillen he actually made a big difference in the those battles while krillen was basically a time waster

yes, i agree Tienshinhan is more courageous than Krillin in more reasons than one. But nonetheless, Krillin is still cool, and the Krillin skin seems to be coming along greatly. Looking foward to the attire. And looking foward to even more is the Tienshinhan model in his Buu Saga costume:D

well, on that picture i noticed something, something kinda fishy lookin, cj says he looks like a whale, but a sea creature nonetheless

look http://www.angelfire.com/pro/bbadapter/fishy.jpg

his head shape is remniscent of the fish from the little mermaid, (i added the fish tail to show you what i mean)mainly around the face, i dunno what it is, maybe im just used to the animated version of krillin but his face just looks "fishy"

@nuttzy: I don't see anything "fishy" about the model. I don't know, might just be me. Plus, it wont matter when you're playing. All you'll notice is the back of his head, and if it really does look fishy, then I guess Kuririn has a fish-like head... o_O

much braver? how? I mean, he fought Frieza and when tien first felt frieza fly overhead in his ship he was afraid of his power. against cell, the only thing he did was repeatedly use ki ki ho (which is very powerful, but a basic projectile) to buy time for 18. While Kuririn went hand to hand against level 2 Cell, then Destructo Disked perfect cell. I dunno. of those 2 I don't think you can say one is more brave. Kuririn is more goofy/comic but Tien has less character (which can be confused with calm coolness)

I think his "fish-ness" has to do with his mouth and ears. I don't know if it's possible for me to make him look exactly like Kuririn from the front and side without having him look like Flounder. I think I'm going to have toss some acurracy of character to keep him looking Mamalian.

The eye color doesnt fit in.. Thats what I think
what the crap... I thought his eyes were allways skin color, but I just looked around at all of Kuririn drawings I have by Yoriyama, and they are all white! guh... well, seeing as how most people make Krillin based on the show, i'm gonna be a rebel and follow the manga.. hmm.. I thought they were skin color.. o_O

Well, this is the head, basicly done. No, kuririn does not have stars on his forhead. they are burn marks. Tradionaly monks would basicly get branded on the forhead. I'm not sure what it symobolized but it is a practice that, I believe, is still in use today.

Still a little fishy a 75° but I left it since fixing that would ruin other things.. oh well. I like it, and if I feel like it when I'm done, I might try to get rid of the last of the aquatic influence. :]

Skin looks very good. Infact the whole model does.. I just think maybe you can connect his eyes with his eyebrows? Most of the time that is how you see him..

-Krillin's eyes are white at that time.... Your model seems to be the one from Android / Cell Saga. At that time Krillin wears the exact gi Goku does.

BTW you mentioned monks having those things burned into their foreheads.. Any idea what happened to krillin's nose?

kuririn was born without a nose. it's just... natural? heh. Toriyama is know for his weird quirks in his stories.

About the eyes. The images you put up do no coincide because one is from the anime, and one is from the manga. And of course, the white one is from the manga.

Toriyama didn't do a TON of colored DB pictures since most of the comic is b/w. But I'll bw willing to bet, most or all of HIS colored drawings (you can usually see the brush & pen strokes) Kuririn's eyes will be white..

As for connecting his eyebrows to his eyes..the charaters eyebrows do overlap (like vegeta in your sig) and my models eyebrows do to (from the front) and I can pull them back from the side and get them closer, but they make the shape of the head very angular and the model loses a lot of depth.

I'm begining to see the limitations of 3D modeling when trying to re-create 2D art. This is one of the charms of 2D... things don't HAVE to stay perfectly relative. What might be seen as inconsistant, acctually makes the characters look better. In the case of Kuririn's eyes, ears (fish-ness) I cannot perfectly create the character from all angles. Take a look at any DBZ figure out there. most all of them (that are sculped well) have that distance between the eye & the eyebrow from the side, Others only have the eyebrow, but no depth to the ridge and shape of the eye. DBZ was designed in 2-D FOR 2-D. I did the best I can, and I'm pretty happy with it, but I will probably try to tweek a little more before I finalize everything.

Krillin: "I smell something fishy... Oh, it's me. Wait, I don't even have a nose. WTF?"
lol. It's looking good, but personally I think it looks better with skin coloured eyes.
