Here are the pics i promised of the Painkiller asylum level, as weird as it seems its one of the only games that has scared me the back ground music and the dam ghost ull se in most the shots.

This pic is rather dark cause we are now in the asylum but that is a pentagram in a circle with candles on the floor..

Sorry for the double post but just finishing up the pics..Bare in mind these are all high quality and this is the best ull see on a geforce 4 ti 4200 imo hehe.

The first mobs ull see besides the dam ghost..

They organize for a mass jumping attack, for those that don't know they jump and throw up as a attack, its kind of a rip off of res evil but they have no hands or feet so lol.

Something a little new a old asylum patient who died in his jacket and muzzle..

I have no idea what this says or how to pronounce it i think it says mammah, my flashlight was on the fritz forgive me plz =P..

The final picture i got before i died was of this guy, after i killed his buddy..

These pics were all of high quality and on nightmare difficulty, if i knew how to take sound recordings id give ya the background sounds to. The place is freaky when i played it at 3 in the morning it had me learing around the corners of my house lol.

I don't believe its scarier then doom3 but it is to me ^^.

Ya lol i would of gotten more but i died, maintaining 1600/1200 or whatever it is on a geforce 4 ti 4200 on high on all aspects isn't easy fps was like 2 and a half lol.

I can run the game in high at 1028 but not at 1600 lol.

You play a man i forgot his name lkol, who was killed in a car accident, and was brought into limbo directly to limbo where he waited i think for 200 years? or somewhere in the thousand si don't really remember.

Then a councilmen of god comes to you and tells you, that your only choice for salvation is to stop lucifer from invading so he sends u into the demon realms once u accept the task armed with the painkiller which is a Spinning blade+ a holy light grappling hook. Combining the 2 shoots the blade spinning outwards.

Thegame has 5 guns but each gun has 2 firing modes so there is in total 5 guns but 2 modes so less hassle switching the guns.

I found the game quite boring actually. For such an engine, the models could have been a lot better. The environment is less interactive, compared to a "common" fps. You get like one objective, kill this, use that. The game reminds me of one of those arcade machine games, where you get to use a toy gun...

But that's my opinion.

So what is the point in these pictures? Painkiller is an ant compared to Doom 3. PK is mindless killing, non-stop for 8 hours, hordes of undead trying to kill you. Doom 3 isn't mindless killing, and there's actually a decent plot and storyline, unlike in PK, which is just an excuse for the endless hordes of demons you have to kill just to get past one level. The game isn't scary either, at least I never found it as such.

Well if u read doom 3 info i said, doom 3 has nothing scary just suprise scary where as painkillers asylum level not the full game, has a very freaky stage background music and way they have the mobs. For those that have never seen painkillers asylum lvl i put some pics up for them.

I am in no way comparing Pk to Doom3, graphics wise its toast sound toast etc, but doom3 doesn't scare me where as the asylum lvl scared the bejesus out of me.

I didn't find anything in painkiller scary. Infact, in that level I remember laughing as those guys charge towards you and explode. Sorry, but in my opinion that level has nothing on the fear factor of Silent Hill and (I'm hoping) Doom 3.

What the hell are you talking about?! Painkiller wasn't scary at all! Everytime a demon spawns some crazy metal music plays, it's not like the game is TRYING to scare you. I played the asylum level and found nothing scary about it, after all, you're the only person with a gun in the whole damn house.
