If the x-box version gets the same score, it just proves that they have no idea what they're talking about. The x-box version is going to be much worse then the pc version (This isn't me being biased, it's just a fact that theres going to be less stuff included for x-box).

I'm getting the silver pakage (or whichever pakage that comes wit just DoD and CS). I already have a reserved copy at 4 different stores lol.

This is gonna be big and i dont think anyone will be dissappointed. If the first one was game of the year for about 5 yrs (more or less?) this should blast away any other game thats out right now. I bet that people that hate computer games will buy this game just cuz its that damn good!

I refer you to Gamerankings, mostly because they compile all scores, and average them out. Thus giving a realistic view on HL2's rating.

One review tells us nothing, multiple reviews can tell us lots.

Grand theft auto San Andreas is not even close to revolutionary (there were atleast 3 other games that are basically the same thing as gta: sa... gta 3, gta 4, true crimes), yet it recieved a much higher score then hl2. Halo 2 is nothing close to revolutionary (Just look how similar it is to halo..), yet it recieved a higher score then hl2. They're biased...

Look, Zeonix, Hybrid, if you're going to talk about how crap Half-Life 2 is/How much Halo 2 rocks and not about which version you'll be buying (and why) then take it to the Half-Life 2 VS Halo 2 thread in the same forum. I'm not even going to comment on half of the wrong stuff you've mentioned as it'll only encourage you.

Is HL2 going to get multiplayer support that isn't CS? If so, expect to see me on there juggling barrels with the manipulator gun.

he does have a good point tho...same old stuff, just a new engine to make it astheticly pleasing...nothing really revolutionary, tis using the same physics engine as painkiller... and doom showed what normal/bumpmapping can do...so really its nothing new.

HL2 will be kickass. Halo 2 is way overhyped and Halo just sucked. But i heard that there might be a little surprise for steam users... :smile:

I don't particularly like Gamespot reviews, they're always overly negative and their final scores never seem to reflect their reviews. IGN on the other hand seem to really over hype the games. I'll reserve my judgement until I play.

More on topic, I'll be getting the regular boxed version. I really want the collectors edition (not least for the DVD install) but that would require waiting an extra week to get the game

Exactly, anyways. To try and get this thing on topic, I will say that I plan to get this game, no money right now, but soon enough. Should pwn.

It's like a 6 hour time difference depending on where you are.

this is one of the very few games i've ever pre ordered, i actually want this game on release. Half life 1 was an incredible game, and everyhting i've seen from valve shows they care about their fans(hell read the "final hours: halo 2, at gamespy you'll see what i'm talking about). If you include building the engine/planning periods this game has been in the works for a VERY long time(less then a year after half life 1). Valve has done nothing to lose my faith in it like almost every other game company has(cept sammy, you still rock too) and when they say its a worthy succesor to half life i believe them.

I'll be getting the plain-Jane, normal, non-fancy, non-shiny retail version. I figure I don't really want DoD Source, as I never liked DoD, and I don't think I need HL: Source right away. I just want HL 2, and CS: S might be nice to try...even though CS and I don't mix well XD

I got it for free because I bought an ATI Radeon 9600 SE last year .
All I had to do is plugin that cd key into steam and pre-load Half-Life (Download it off Steam).
Then this morning it got activated when i Woke up and turned on steam .

I only got to play 2 mins of it... But i cant wait to get home and REALLY play it...
Im so excited . It looks really nice on my pc . I have to tweak my graphics setting a little, it had a little stutter .

Oh sure, Ill play it, but i prefer to read the most negative review possible in order to get a good understanding of the low points of a game. Reading positive comments exclusively is a no no for me. Im only getting the game for the mods. The game Half-Life doesnt really interest me.

Halo 2 got .2 points higher than Half-Life 2. That doesnt mean one is better than the other. Those of you who insist on saying that i prefer Halo 2 over Half-life are assuming way too much. To be honest, i dislike Halo fanboys as much as i dislike Half-Life fanboys. I was merely pointing out that after 6 years in production, it is obvious that it wasnt as great as we were led to believe.

San Andreas is about 2973289732 times better than Vice City. Dont even compare the two, Hybrid, because San Andreas is revolutionary in its own right.
