I have to think it will die, when? Who knows? Who cares? It'll go when there is no more demand.

esf is a breakthrough for all dbz games. its fully 3d, no holds bar to where you can move and menuever in the map.

my favorite dbz game so far, even though there could be improvements and additions, i believe this has potential to be one of the best dbz games ever

This mod isn't leaving the scene anytime soon.

Even if the mod died, the community would live on in the minds and hearts of the members here. (and maybe in Greg's hosting plans >_>)

Edit:
For those who like to take things out of context

Even if the mod suddenly sploded, the community would live on.

think of DMZ, the place has slowed on produciton, but the community sticks together.

(please don't talk about DMZ deadness/aliveness in this thread after this comment >_> it was used as a reference)

With each new generation of kids that find out about DBZ there will be more players for this mod. Without a doubt THE best DBZ game out there. I'm not just talking about HL mod wise.

I agree with Kurt. This mod will not be going away any time soon. 1.3 will offer some new things to play around with, likely increasing the amount of active players for some time, once again. There are still more opportunities for the team to bolster their mod-making skills, I think, from this project. I don't think the team will call it quits yet.

Almost everyday, someone joins the forum.

Every month, depending on coincidental progress, the Dev Team releases information, pertaining to criteria involved in the next release.

This mod has been on the rise since late 2001, and hasn't shown any signs that it has stopped it's climb of habitual positivity. ESF has recieved awards from numerous sites, such as www.planethalf-life.com's "Mod of the Week" in December 2002, and a possible award from ModDB, which will be announced in January 2005.

The fact is.... ESF's future possibilities of newfound merriment could cease to exist, but the community members who have shown substantially full support, and considerable patience, will continue to preach the legacy that was PcJoe's and harSens platform for future success, and the experiment that tought them many things about mod making as a whole.

After 1.3, what else would be left to add? Bug fixes? A few characters? Tweaks to melee? That is why i am uncertain about the fate of esf.

and with continuing bug fixes people will still play. I mean, people still play Starcraft, no?

Magus is right...

As long as your still having fun playing the game, do you have to updates every single day, to believe the game is still popular?

Unless FUNimation storms in here and haults production, I don't think ESF will die. There will always be DBZ fans wanting to play their favorite characters and etc.

I doubt ESF will do anywhere aslong as people want to make it. Funi dont care about us, and they never will. That being said, once the release of 1.3 is behind us, who knows whats instore, team member may wish to move on, but new members will join and keep the mod alive. Though I do think there are a few changes that need to be made in ESF to make the mod something special once again. (but thats why I joined mwuhahahahhaha)

Ok get this.

Me and my local friends used to play esf like mad b4 1.2 was out. it was the best game ever. We played it sick. (BTW I was the best mhuahahaha :p,just had to state that haha)

I really was my fav. game ever I used to practise so much...

But after 1.2 was out there hasn't been that "Skill" game ever again.

I have not found that special ingredient in any other game yet. The amount of skill that is required and all that is just freak'n amazing.

1.2 Spoiled the intensity of the game for me.

And after it was released we all stopped playing esf...we tried it. But it just changed the gamplay(That everyone liked) too much.

I just hope esf wont die. But I think it will though.

I'll be here to support the mod and the community forever.

I dont play the mod,but I post here.

I still play starcraft from time to time... there's still a huge europian community for it ... and hell look
http://revolution.wc3campaigns.com/index.php
there's even mod's comeing through for warcraft on it ... I don't think you can say its dead ... so ...
You can't destroy what ESF really is , even if you manage to kill this mod a mod even stronger would surface and take its place!
<_< >_>...
Yeah but I still think ESF has a hell of a way to go before it dies.

I'm not saying this just because this is the forums or that the team hangs around this but Damn this has to be the BEST DBZ game for cpu ever This is my opinion. Yeah, it may get boring after like 30 mins in each server but damn that never happend to me before gj guys :D That must mean that it's an awsome HL mod?

Not to diss the ESF team but No affence but 1.2 just got ruined I mean basic melee pwned ass but I just think advanced melee is lame (I'm not complaining at the ESF team I'm just saying my words) People just fly at u and do combos and press like wasd etc and throw. 1.1 And 1.0 Were awsome. Alpha 2.0 had to be the best version I EVER played. I mean I love basic melee. 1.2 Is fun but atleast here's a suggestion: Add a command that disables advanced melee for rcon admins ;) I just don't like advanced melee because it's noob friendly and just everyone can fly at u and do 12 punches with 12 damage every 12 prepunch end. And they just keep doing that. Anyway's ESF is FAR from dieng.

BUdokai 3 is better all Budokai 3 needs are Japanese voices, and the ability to play online.
