Beams could benefit from having a delay after being fired (lets say 3 seconds, but it could vary for each beam)
+ Cuts down beam spamming, and stops the attack from looping over.

Another thing while im at it, Having a fading swoop trail instead of just an aura would be a nice visual?

ESF doesn't need any more delays, really.

As for the swoop trails, it would be nice. It would probably lower fps so they could make a cvar thats off by default (off by default since some people may have bad comps and not know how to turn the feature off).

uh no it wouldnt, it would be like a beam trail, and pictures dont really drop frames... unless your outdated, which means its time to get a new computer anyways.

On topic: I think the swoop trail would be cool and Beam delays would be nice instead of kames one after another.

I don't know for sure how much it would effect fps, but judging on what dusttrails did to the fps, I would say it has a pretty good chance of decreasing it. And honestly, having a cvar for it would make no difference to anyone, if you want it on, put it on, if you want it off, put it off... Can't really see why you wouldn't want a cvar.

Shows how much you know. Have you ever been in a server loaded with beam sprites? My computers specs are imo really good, and my fps will drop to 30 if there are too many sprites in a server. And I get 100 fps constant. Would 1 swoop or 2 swoop trails make an fps loss? probably not. but with a server full of 10 people or so (which is what the RAP server is like now) 1. you wouldn't be able to see who you are following, what beams are comming, and your fps would drop to like 40 and such. I dislike both ideas. ESF has too many delays, and this trail is just eye candy.

This is just a guess, but thats probably because Fire and I have vsync off while you have it on, which is why we can get out fps above 60 and you can't. We also have a bigger fps drop while you don't.

Gradually, more and more PC users are upgrading (betcha hl2 had alot of people upgrade)
So something like this might be nice eye candy for those with good fps. A cvar would work fine as you said Hybrid.

I know beam delays sound like the next teleport delay, but im just talking about a small delay for the big beams here...Special Beam Cannon should not be the special spam cannon, nor should kame-hame-ha be repeated over and over untill
the player finally hits someone :p And if you need to spam theres always basic beam and ki blobs.
