Steam updating service

I use the official half life updating program "steam" and when i tried to install esf, it wouldn't work... if anyone can install it, and have it work... plz tell me how you did it.

esf doesnt work with steam u have to use half-life 1.1.1.0.

common sense, steam does not support minor mods (esf, the specialist, etc) the only mods it supports is DoD, CS, Ricochet, blue shift, deathmatch classic, team fortress, and opposing force.

you HAVE TO HAVE the RETAIL VERSION of HALFLIFE for you to be able to run ESF.
