Server list

When i try to load server list, nothing comes up...

I wait and wait and nothing comes up >_>

when i try to create my own room i get an error

"Could not load library"

so ya....

2. Download HLDS needed files ("valve" content).
3. Install ESF into your HLDS folder (where hlds.exe file is).
4. Create a file named steam_appid.txt in esf folder and type 70 in it.
5. Start hlds.exe.

I'd suggest using batch file for automatic HIGH priority setting and other commands.

uhhh where do i get HLDS update tool from steam??

So do i need to run the game from dedicated server??

Well i'm not really what to do >_> most of these things, i don't know where to get or what they are.
If possible please help me further.

I have 2 questions.

Do you use STEAM?

Are you trying to run ESF 1.2.3?

uhhh i have steam... and i launch it from steam and yes i'm running 1.2.3

ya that didn't work, my main problem is when i go to multiplayer no games show up... and if i press refresh really quickly it says 16 are up >_> but i don't see them.

it may have to do that i'm not running from steam.. like i only chose add non-steam games and it gives me shortcut, when i tried to active it, it said my s/n was a duplicate.

I'm also not really sure if i should launch it from shortcut or from the hlds.exe, when i do tho i don't know how to start the game with it...

Err i asked you if you was using STEAM cause the file only fixes the STEAM version of the error >.>

The nonsteam version of the error is connected to not using STEAM >.<

so to play i have to active it using steam? cuz like i said, it says my s/n is a duplicate.

ESF itself is free. But you need Half Life 1 in order to run it. So if you allready have an account with Half Life 1 on it then you dont need to register a new one. Just use the one you have.

If you bought Half Life from a store and it says your key is duplicate then i suggest you take it up with STEAM support. They should be able to do something about it.

If you bougfht it from someone else then he probably registered the game on STEAM himself and sold the useless CD to get some cash back.

In any case as said youshould take it up with STEAM support or their forums.

So i can't run the game without having steam registered on an acccount?

i guess i should request help from contact support... eh i hope i can get this fixed soon.

The game actually used to belong to my friend and he got tired of it and gave it to me since he had no use for it, and i'm not really sure if he ever used steam.
