Ok im sure most of you are familiar with Britney Spears and Christina Agullkadjgsdhg. In saying that havent you guys/gals have noticed that they turned into 2 big o whores? Seriously, Christina "has no haira" became a serious freak and got tanned like dark leather on a car seat. The way she dresses is like she came from hell. Britney being the "cute/innocent" girl she USE to be has turned into one weirdo? She was hot, made songs about love, and her boobs. All of the sudden she ends up marrying for 55 hours then splits on the guy. Turns into some weirdo who wears clothes from a cheap porn movie. I mean what the hell went wrong here?! I come to the conclusion that its money but there has to be more to it than just money for a person to change from freaking hot to freaking scary. o_o Im definately concerned about this cuz now when i see Britney, forget about Christina...she's too freaking weird AND scary to even look at now..., I see Britney setting an example to lil 9,10,11,12 year old lil girls. Next thing you know it, there are going to be those lil girls who turn into some "bad apples" (Unless ofcourse the parents get involved) And on a final note...when i see Britney, I no longer get Mr. Happy up.

Pop stars are forced to change their image as their target demographic becomes bored with them. Britney Spears had the 'schoolgirl' look, and Christina had the 'innocent look,' and that was okay for awhile.

But their CD sales dropped, so they tried new stuff. They turned to revealing their bodies, breast implants and basically turned themselves into first rate, slutty hookers to sell their music.

As such, people have lost almost all respect (If they had any) for them, and their sales continue to drop.

Britney Spears has always been hated by many because she didn't write her first album's music, and her obnoxiously cheery first CD.

There's also a crowd of people who by default hate anything that is liked by many, and as her music lost her appeal, more and more people have turned to this category.

I don't really even listen to music anymore, for pretty much the same reason. Nowadays, if you're pop, you're a female slut. If you're a rapper, you shoot more people than you have bullets and you rack up more bodies than the morgue can actually speak of. If you're rock, well.. Heh. Rock has been speaking for itself lately. It's really kind of sad how cookie-cutter music has been. Do you think that our kid's kids will look back on junk like, "Toxic," and think of it as a classic? No. They'll think of it as a 2-month gimmick to rack up money.

People don't make music to make music anymore, or if they do, they aren't played mainstream, and that's a complete shame. When I make it rapping, I'm going to be onstage with a G.I. Joe shirt, spitting some of the sickest lyrics this side of logic, reason, and defiance, but I doubt I'll ever be 'big' because I refuse to pose with a kevlar vest on my album cover.

It's really sad, but.. That's where the world's going.

well think about it...everyone always says "sex sells"...they werent just sayin it to hear themselves talk...cause i mean think about it...britney is called the "pop princess" and the "next madonna"...and y do u think that is?...because she has a nice body and shows it everywhere just like madonna did...right now britney is the most widely known pop "musician" in the business...and i promise u most of it is not because of her music...i mean for christs sake...havent u ever seen britney live like at the super bowl or somethin like that..she is clearly lip syncing...

christina is a different kind of sell out because she can acctually sing...hal made a good point and this only backs it up...she can acctually sing but would she be anywhere if she wasnt the lil ho-bag she is?...thats just like carmen electra and pamela anderson...they wouldnt be half as famous as they are now if they hadnt slept with half of holywood...god knows they cant act...so they had to fall back on somethin else...their bodies...no matter how fake/plastic they are they get attention..and thats the basis of all profit in the tv/movie/music business...if u can get someones attention u will make money..its that simple

The nice thing about mainstream music (and anime, for that matter) is that it brings you into a new wavelength that allows you (if you're wanting) to enter a better, smaller realm of enjoyment.

Lol you know what? Britney was on tv last night and i was waiting for that "Special South Park Episode" with Michael "Jefferson". So i saw a concert with Britney in it and there was a part where she "supposedly" was leaving and she sang "So i run and So i Hide...OMG I HATE THAT SONG!" She was singing on her own and it was like flat and out of tune. God it was horrible. she ran offstage afterwards and im like LOL! She just made of an ass of herself. It was great. So i see whatcha mean when you say she was lip syncn'. Christina can actually sing but to me she has gotten REALLY FREAKY! O_O Gives me nightmares.. :cry:

I can also see how you guys are like there ARE NO REAL SINGERS out there. Well there are BUT like Hal said they dont get the mainstream...which is sad sad sad.. :\ Geez...this world gets worse and worse..glad there are still good ppl out there who dont do ****e for money as in doing bad bad stuffs.

I listen to a lot of music... if it's pleasing to the ear, then I like it. However, this doesn't mean that I respect the band/artist. I only respect a few groups and artists, usually becuase they don't care about the money they make, and their focus is solely on the fans.

Mainstream music is made to sell, not be good. Like Phatslugga said, there are so few artists that I respect anymore also. Its all about the bling bling for most bands, and not about the music. I think the only artist that I truley respect anymore is Trent Reznor.

Really what brittany and christina are now are little puppets, and the music industry it so messed up they just do anythign to sell there crappy music, and lyrics keep getting worse and worse.
