I'm catholic christian, though I have my own beliefs about some things, I'd say im more open minded about things then some other Catholics, I believe that some things we learn may be wrong(medieval age, corruption in the church screwed some things up) and I think it's like possible that the earth is millions of years old, etc. Science does affect my point of view of things.

I stated earlier that I don't believe in the existence of a deity, god or God. Just to elaborate:

In my opinion, the universe has always existed. And like us, it eventually dies and is born, then dies again - a cycle of rebirth. Though, unlike us, it's born through the Big Bang and dies through the Big Crunch. However, how did this process come into existence? In Buddhism, one of the fundamental principles is that of Causation (Cause and Effect). The only answer I have is that the Big Bang caused the Big Crunch and the Big Crunch caused the Big Bang. Simply put, they caused each other. However, what caused them? I have no idea. God? I don't think so, but there's always the possibility that I'm wrong. So, I'll leave it up to scientists to fill the gaps at this point, especially since this year it's been one major discovery/breaththrough after the next.

Our latest observations suggest the Universe will coast to a halt, and then remain at equilibrium. As the Universe is also expanding at an ever-increasing rate, the "Big Chill" or "Heat Death" is favored as the second likely possibility. Not that the Big Crunch is an impossibility, but those two seem to be what astronomers are leaning to at the moment.
