It's in development, our first time machine.

It's obvious that anything is possible.

But, likely that bending time only leads to an alternate time/dimension.

Has anyone whatched movie Time Machine. It's about man whose girlfriend was killed by a thief, just a seconds before he proposed her. Then, he went back a time, but he lost her again. And again. And once, when he was going back again, something hit him and he lost his consciense, so he went in to year 75736...

Could just be 1 man's desperation to avoid the apocalypse, honestly you all knew time travel would eventually be tampered with, as will lasers, and hover tanks yada yada, cartoons+idea's are dangerous when people take them too seriously.

In any case i would love to see some of the older times, hell now adays i wonder what it would be like if we could go back intime and kill the person who invented currency, not jewels and all that, you know some smuck of a fella or female gave a item in exchange for another i want to find them and hurt them.....slowly..

I believe it's not gonna work, returning into the past is not something humans can do. Using lasers to go back in time? WTF? That guy is gonna fry himself before he can even try...
Considering that we've proven time isn't constant, who's to say what we can do? At the very least, this will expand out understanding of how light alters space-time.

I jus got an idea: Many things could b fixed, Hitler and Satlin could B killed before WW2, we could stop Nobel of making dynamite, Serbia might still B in Yugoslavia, etc.

My God.... that's such a brilliant idea! Why hasn't anybody thought of that before!

I have a better Idea:
Send some money to yourself 2 minutes ago. If this doesn't cause a parallel universe, you're one step closer to becoming rich.

People from the future can offer us their technology. And perhaps we can start on repairing our world. Assuming we're still around in 200 years or so.

This is interesting, but when you think too much about it, it just gets confusing.
I agree we are destroying our planet and soon or later it will be inpossible to live on it!Im so into space and dark holes and this is very possible i think that one day it will be people or even time traveling agents who will correct mistakes that we have made in our past!

lol, did you even watch the video? Says that you can only travel back to the point when the machine was created.

I think if they can pull this off, it would be awesome. For 70 years straight, I'll do nothing but work, and send all my money to myself now. Then I'll be loaded. But... if I'm loaded, then I never would have worked for 70 years to send myself that money. And if I never sent myself money, I'd never be loaded in the first place. So then I'd work for...

AHHHHHHHHHHH MIND ****!

The 70 years you spent working would remain in a seperate dimension, and a new one would be formed by you sending back money, one in which you are rich.

It takes a watch or two and a couple stiff drinks, but you can wrap your head around the concept presented.

People on this forum need to stop talking about space/time and go study a half a decade worth of physics.

congratulations for flaming an entire forum of various intelects, some of whom actually have a great deal of understanding and/or success in the field of physics.

i know of at least 2 other people here with university level qualifications in physics, i myself have an A level (one level down from uni).

you've earned yourself a warning for it.

don't assume that just because this is an e-forum, that people know nothing. and especially, don't think that people cannot propose their own theorys and opinions based on their own knowledge, no matter how limited it may be.

People think that if we were to suddenly have a time machine, we could just go to the past, kill Hitler, and everything will be done. I don't think that's how it works. There just might be several billion alternate time lines, all of which we may theoretically be able to alter, but none of which would affect our own time line. Perhaps an alternate time line is just now catching up to WW2. Perhaps an alternate time line is composed of peaceful humans who have gone an entirely separate route from what we know of our own history.

The past is the past and the future has yet to happen. Right? Maybe not. If everything is happening at once, then there is only now and the idea of time travel is ludicrous. Maybe black holes are capable of transporting us to our own past or future. Or maybe they'd just spit us out 4 billion light years away or maybe you'll wake up on a golf course wondering what the hell just happened.

The fact of the matter is we just don't know. Studying 5 years worth of physics may give you more insight and allow you to formulate better or slightly more plausible theories, but you're sure as hell not going to have all or even half of the answers. Sometimes it takes the mind of someone who hasn't been tainted by science and who's imagination can take them to the end's of the universe to open our eyes when it comes to certain things.

Personally, I like reading other people's ideas and theories when it comes to this field because every so often someone says something so crazy, that it makes sense, and I try to integrate the idea into my own theory.

Don't edit my posts unless you have a valid reason to do so. And no. Your reason was not valid.

zeonix, despite the fact that you are on this occasion, right. you don't need to continue an argument after a moderator has stepped in.

lol, the responses in this thread....

I dunno, time seems too fast. I don't wanna go back it time, just slow it down a little, like, 4 or 5 more hours in a day, that'd be more like it.
