Help, where do i place the Earth special forces file once downloaded?

I downloaded the file but i don't know where to place it.

Wherever you want. During the install select your steam folder and install it.

but whenever i try to open the file it says i have to open it with a suitable program.

What file the downloaded file? Isnt it suposed to be .exe?

Do you have Half-Life?

yes it is the ESF_B12_Full.exe file, but it says i have to "open with" a program when i ever double click on it.

yes i also have the original half-life

Place it in the Half-Life folder. But to play online you need Steam. http://www.steampowered.com/?area=getsteamnow

Thanks guys, but now i have Another problem, whenever i try to connect to a server a get a message sAYING "Your .dll [cl_dlls\client.dll] differs from the server's"

You need to have the 1.2.1 Patch as well. D/l it at the files section of the esf site.
