Going into High School, nerves as ****.

Ummm...yea. Im going into high school and im so ****ing nerves. I have social anxiety really bad, which is going to make this experience even more fun . Any tips for getting through the day? I start very soon and im so scared im going to make an ass out of my self the first day.

Just relax. High school isn't a big deal, especially your freshman year. My best recommendation would be to take as MANY math courses as you can, the more you do, the more ready you'll be and have an easier time in college.

You should at least take Calculus in highschool, Trig if you get that far.

Dude, dont worry bout it, its easy, no matter. are any friends from last year going into highschool with you? or is there another school there going to? if there going with you youll be just fine or if there not youll still be fine everyone i have met has always been nice no matter if you know them or not. Dont worry. i had fun the first day, thought it was cool. you will too. First day tho, i didn't like the bus, still don't. But after that you'll be fine. But if your school is only 2 stories, and you ask for a class, and they say 3rd floor on the right, dont listen lol.

Everyone makes an ass out of them self from time to time. Just be able to laugh at yourself. My advise is just to be yourself. Some people make too big of a deal out of things like High School. Also, the more people you know, the better.

Ya true, ive made an ass out my self a couple times lol, you have to laugh, or look like a dumbass, lol. ethier way. Ya, highschool isnt a big deal at all, its just a bigger school with more people. And the stories (if you hear them) about seniors picking on freshman, some are true, but dont act like an immature dumbass and they wont pick on you.

Bah. Highschool is just like middle school. The only difference is now people openly smoke, do drugs, and participate in naughty activities. Im sure there are quite a few freshman that feel the same way as you. Man up, and prepare yourself for some fun...unless you plan on studying and doing all of your homework. If so, prepare yourself for some of the worst years of your life .

Dude you will more then likely never get bullied for not doing drugs. Im an open pothead (since like 8th grade) and ive never seen or have bullied anyone for not doing drugs, its your choice and people should respect that. Anyway, highschool is a blast, this is my senior year and im already going to sumwhat miss highschool..Ahh memories.....

High School seemed imposing at first, as it seemed to have a lot of distinct tiers of people. However, I made it rather far, socially speaking, the first day just by finding some people and talking to them about stuff I had heard about that particular high school, talking to them about very general topics. Finding compatriots helps ease a lot of pressure.

Besides, you can always take comfort in the fact that you're not the ONLY new person entering that high school. You can probably relate to a great many of the other freshmen ^_^

I don't get why people hate High School so much, though. Those were, quite possible, 4 of the best years of my life. It offers a really good chance for social and intellectual growth - you'll be fine

its high school people could give a crap what u do. its not like the movies make it out to be. there is bound to be one or two problems but they r useually minor. there is the social click thing which isnt as bad as it use to eb considering alot of people intermingle between them. computer gamers and nerds are vast and there will be alot of them, but they wont look like they are. alot of jocks are asses, then u will have the goth kids who hate life(arnt real goths), the punks, and the "thugz" ya know those dudes who think they are rappers, and wear there pants around their knees.

high school is bs but its fun. dont be nervous cause there is no need to be. just remember pass your classes because it works on a credit system u dont get the credits u dont graduate

High school isn't a big deal. Like someone already said, it's the same damn thing as middle school. Just don't worry. I moved and had to go to a new school the first year of my highschool, it wasn't even that bad. And uh... You won't get bullied for not doing drugs/smoking. 90 % of my friends smoke and do drugs, they don't care that I don't. If they do make fun of you for it, **** em, they aren't your friends.

screw being outgoing (if its not who u are), just be yourself and hangout w/ the ppl u (as ourself) have stuff in common w/.. lol and no1 gets bullied these days this aint the movies.. unless u goto a skool in a reeeally bad neighborhood, otherwise ur fine.. and another thing, after your out, youll most likely never see 90% of those ppl again.. unless ur pretty close friends

Like I said before, take as much math as you can. It'll definitely help you later on. Also.. you should try to take as many AP classes you can, and that'll give you an edge in college, too.

Don't really worry about "extra-curricular" activities, like sports or "the prom decoration committee." In my experience, that's not what universities really want to see--they want to see community service, like Habitat for Humanity, or volunteering at an old folks home/animal shelter.

You should try to move on in style and maybe work out, because you sound like one of the people who get picked on alot. You have to relax the whole time. Get nice clothes, go in style.

Dont take too many AP classesO_O! Sure, these classes give you college credits and look nice on your transcript, but they will also cause you to stay in in school for an extra 2 periods or so (depending on the amount of classes). Take a few during the first 2 years. Study like hell during the 3rd year (SAT's), and then take as many ap classes as possible senior year. You should only have 3 or 4 classes senior year anyway, so you should have a somewhat shorter school day even with the AP classes.

And when i said people openly used drugs and did w/e the hell they wanted, i didnt say they would impose their lifestyles on you . If you dont like em, stay away from them.

Mkay, works for me. I did get bullied a bit in middle school, never beat up. Just tounted and laughed at, nothing major, it was just annoying. Thanks for all your help guys, now the hard part, going there :O. Im probally going to move soon and i dont want to go to the schools around here cause i dont know anyone, if i go to this one school i will know plenty of people.
