hmm brotherhood just looks like a remake of FMA first ..

same scenerio's
nothing extra =S
You couldnt be further from the trouth. The only same part is the stuff that the first series had from the manga. But we are allready past the part where the first series branched off.

Brotherhood = manga

FMA series 1 = a few eps of manga then its own story.

I can't remember which exact episode it is, but start watching it from maybe three or four back from where it's currently at, the episode where they end up meeting Greed. That'll be where things take a drastic change from the original series.

Actually it starts going different from the meeting with Scar. Though there are still some similar setups and locations the events unfold differently.

Watching it from the beginning could help a little more. The first series tweaked a few minor details from the beginning of the manga.

The new episode was good.

I kinda hope Hawkeye doesn't die, but it looks like she's going to in the next episode. Dam you gluttony!

Episode 19 is out there people. It was pretty intense.

It's amazing how serious scenes are followed by funny ones. One minute Mustang's burning Lust, the next Al laughs and his arm falls off.

Intense indeed.

I totally didn't see it coming when Mustang came back to kill Lust, with the lighter and the circle carved into his hand. So sick.

Does Havoc survive? I always thought he was a cool character.

Don't read this unless you really want to disappoint yourself...

He lives. It's not that surprising for those of us who've read the manga :).

DAMM!!!!!!! Episode 19 was EPIC. Mustang is just too cool, he was close to death but he cared about Havoc.
Even Ed's father is here...can't wait to see his part in this story ( cause he was kinda lame in the first series)

Ok so i've kinda come in half way, I've watched the whole first series and movie, and also the first 6 eps of this redone series. Does it follow the manga or is it just redoing the old anime? Or is it something new?

It preety much follows the manga to a dot. They did skip the mining town part though and went straight for scar ^^

It is indeed.

They play fairly important roles later on. As does the "other" alchemy.

As greed said. They are not immortal. They only have superb regeneration rate. They use the souls trapped inside the stone as the source for their power to regenerate. If they run out of juce they go away. That simple.

And yes every single bit about the new anime is canon. The only actuall filler was the first ep.
