Nice article, extremely good for ESF to get more recognition!

There are a few mistakes although, they keep talking about an alpha version and finally give a download link for 1.2.3 referring to it as alpha - "You can grab an older and less-glossy alpha version here to check it out, though it carries significant bugs and non-working bots."

Significant bugs? Non-working bots? WTF?o_o

I guess our PR guy should email the writer and ask for an edit.

Yup. That should be fixed.
Also... it's nice to see ESF in the news. :)

I followed the reddit link in the article, people were amazed and people were excited. However, I read this:

The guys who made this mod http://www.moddb.com/mods/paranoia originally added the shaders to GoldSrc. They open sourced the code for modders to use. Team Psykskallar used that code to make Cry of Fear, so the shaders already existed.
Easier to develop for, and tons of extra work done by fellow modders has added a ton of features and ease of use.
Is this true? Because it's the first time I hear of it.

Well it's true that CoF uses the sourcecode from paranoia as a base. But Paranoia is not the first mod wich used shaders.(Think of Mechmod )

I thought ESF's shaders were made by Raven and co. .

Man, I completely forgot about MechMod. I was pretty excited about that one. NNK? Not so much.

Prepare yourselves, new forum members asking about the release date are coming.
Jokes aside, it's about time a nice article by a game magazine/website appeared.

No, they said assumed that ESF had done the same. To use open source "hacks" to build up on the original engine. That's why I asked "Is this true?". I thought all of your hacks were made in house.

The article has a small flaw:
You can grab an older and less-glossy alpha version here to check it out, though it carries significant bugs and non-working bots.
v1.2.3 is stable and has working bots.

Plus, the link "Earth Special Forces" at the beginning of the article goes to ModDB.. :(

That's what I thought, and that is why I'm sad that people may think so now and not give you the credit that you have earned. Bah! People start posting the truth on reddit (I don't hang out there) :p
